Need full on epic magic anime!

Looking for a full on magic anime where spells are cast, battles are fought and cool factor is at the top!

Anime I have seen which has had magical features include:

Bleach
Nanoha (All series)
Card Captors
Sailormoon
Mai Otome/Hime
Naruto
Soul Eater
Zero no Tsukima
Claymore

So if you have any other epic magic animes (ie spell casting or similar..) please feel free to recommend :/

I recommend Mahou Shoujo Tai Arusu ("Tweeny Witches"). Though a show for children, the themes are dark indeed, and the artwork by Studio 4C is absolutely gorgeous.

Fate-Stay Night is indeed a good bet. Consider it seconded.

Rental Magica, as the name suggests, is heavily centered on magic, but I wouldn't call it epic.

Oh, oh, I almost forgot, Shakugan no Shana. The best of the best.

Earth Girl Arjuna is brilliant, spose it focuses more on the drama than the action though

Others I've seen and would recommend, Mahou Sensei Negima (stay away from the remake called Negima!?), Nanatsuiro Drops, and Rozen Maiden.

Fate/stay night is great,
Spoiler for spoiler:

Shakugan no Shana is brilliant, Zero no Tsukaima is very similar, though SnS has a far more cohesive plot, far better pacing, and a lot less annoying ridiculous fanservice.

So many people liked Fate/stay night?. It's a rather poor anime adaptation of a really great visual novel. It could be so much more.

As for an epic magic anime, I'd recommend Ayashi no Ceres or Kannazuki no Miko (more mecha than magic though). And I second Rozen Maiden.

OP included Claymore, Soul Eater, Bleach, Naruto as "magical" so you can't blame me. And I wasn't really listing towards magical, but what was recommended towards his list.

Naruto has magical elements, such as when he forms Rasengan. I mean, what else would that be but magical.

In Soul eater i would call the demon weapons magical...

In Bleach the hollows have magical powers.

I guess what it boils down to is the disambiguousicity (I wonder if thats a word) of the word magical. Which in your case your suggestions could be seen as magical, or not. In any case they were good suggestions.

Right, no idea why you started this anyways :V but disambiguousicity is not a word.

I disagree.

In Naruto, Rasengan and various other ninja techniques are formed with Chakra, so called life force energy. No one calls it magic.

Similarly in Bleach, hollows are basically evil spirits and nowhere is magic explicitly listed as the source of their energy.

As for Soul Eater, you're not entirely mistaken, but only witches use magic there. Weapons' and meister's techniques are all about souls and soul wavelenghts.

I guess some of these things look like it, but still it's not right to assume that they really are 'magical' unless it's clearly stated.

How about Scrapped Princess?

It's been quite a while since I watched it, but I recall that Shannon Raquel is a powerful mage. The story is a classic epic adventure with an unusual mixture of science-fiction and magic

Magic is seen in different aspects. Creating elements out of nowhere is seen as magic to me despite what world it is displayed in or what they call it.

Soul Eater: Witchs..
Bleach: Demon Arts, Zanpakatou shooting out projectiles..?
Naruto: Fire coming out of mouths etc.. I don't need to explain myself.

I tried Rozen Maiden last night and the first episode is a bit bland, does it get better?

Kaze no Stigma is all about mages! You'll probably like.

Though the magic in it is pretty simple, blasting the hell out of others, and there's a good bit of fan service too, but that's hard to avoid in anime. There isn't too many proper "epic magic anime" though I'd like to see some as well.
