I see. That definitely cleared some of my doubts about Nanjo's murder. Thanks.

Spoiler for Old News, possibly.:

Shouldn't this make the universe explode since it's..

Spoiler for RED TRUTH:

I'm sorry if this is a beaten horse, just something I ~finally~ noticed on my 2nd playthrough of Ep3.

I'm also left wondering now if this is the move Beato "used" to deny witches with the red.

That's actually one of the statements that makes me and others question whether Eva-Beatrice Red Truth are even valid.

Yeah that was quite an awkward statement. That's the very first thing I was discussing in my very first post in an Umineko thread.

If you want to have some laughs, I made fun of it in my blog: http://uminekousoda.blogspot.com/200...3-spoiler.html

Anyway the main problem with that part, is by saying that the witch is human, then the witch should be counted in the people limit of Rokkenjima. While Beatrice could always get away with it by saying she is an incorporeal creature, Eva Beatrice at that point couldn't.

In other words Eva Beatrice's version not only make it impossible for a human to be the culprit, it makes it impossible even for a human witch.

EvaB eatrice was n00b so she messed up, IIRC she was even getting beaten up by battler before she took a time off with ronove.

The eye color has been at the center of many debates. Usually normal characters have black eyes, however "magic" character have either blue or red eyes.

It is speculated that the eye color reflects the magical status.
Black for normal people, Blue for witches and red for furniture.

However there are notable exceptions. Maria has dark blue eyes, Young eva has blue yes, Ronove has black eyes. There isn't any official confirmation about the purpose of the eye colors, what is almost certain is that such colors do not reflect the actual colors rather they have some symbolic meaning.

In the games at least, witches all have blue eyes. (Well ... maybe with one notable exception.) Anime has kind of violated that canon.

The Young Eva we see is an expy of Eva as a teenager. Young Eva looks like Eva as a child, but she isn't exactly Eva.

However Metabattler isn't exactly Battler either, yet his eyes are still black.

Meta-Battler isn't considered a witch though. Young Eva technically is - she was made from Eva's belief in the power of hard work conquering all odds against her, sorta similar to Lambda.

I'm not sure of that :/ I think she only became a witch after finding the gold. There is nothing that would make me think she was a witch before that.

Eye color can also change over time. (At least some) Babies have blue eyes that change into another color as they grow older if I recall correctly.

Eva doesn't need to be proven as the killer of most people in ep3, and in fact if you break it down, she almost certainly wasn't the killer of most of them.

1) She (almost certainly) cannot have done the First Twilight. That's six, leaving twelve.

2) She could have killed Rosa/Maria. Still twelve.

3) There is almost certainly no way she could have killed Hideyoshi/Kyrie/Rudolf. So that's nine.

4) She could have killed Krauss and Natsuhi. Still nine.

5) She could not have killed George, and it seems all but impossible that she ever would. Eight.

6) She cannot have killed Nanjo. Seven.

Seven out of 18 is well under half. So Eva not only wasn't the killer for some of ep3, she wasn't the killer for most of it.

Why is it impossible she couldn't have killed Hideyoshi, Rudolf and Kyrie? She could have snuck out, since her door was locked and everyone was under the assumption she was sleeping inside. Although it's more likely there is a culprit that was hiding in the mansion and killed people off one by one. Maybe Eva and Beatrice teamed up, after Rosa and Maria's deaths?

the funny thing about "she cannot have done the first twilight" is that for the same reason you should say the same for all the adults, Maria and Battler are excluded, the 6 sacrifices are dead and there was no suicide and no trap. You only have Nanjo George and Jessica left, however you are facing with the unlikely situation of either george and jessica killing the person they love, and Nanjo being an old man and all.
