Policy for Viz licenses

Viz announced the license to Hunter x Hunter at New York Comic-con 2008, but it was just added to the site as Anime Expo 2008 when they announced a release date.

Viz announced Monster at Anime Expo 2008, but it isn't listed on the site as licensed.

Is the new policy for Viz licenses to wait until a date is announced to consider them licensed?

From our License Database, Hunter x Hunter

License officially confirmed at Anime Expo 2008. Previously there were reports that Viz were trying to get a TV deal for Hunter x Hunter, but nothing concrete had been announced. The first boxset will be availabe in December 2008.

Naoki Urusawa's Monster anime series is in the works for 2009 via "DVD or TV... anything we can get."

In some case (due to ShoPro, sorry can't remember their new name) we do wait until there is official confirmation form Viz itself. If the announcement comes from ShoPro (again, whatever they are called now) and that the information is they are looking for a T.V. deal, then we treat it as unconfirmed.

If you can provide a source that they have landed an actual deal (with either DVD or T.V. release), then we will mark it as licensed. This is now we have always treated such "middle-men" announcements I believe.
