buying new pc , please help

ok , I am going to buy a new pc hopefully , so i want something that get along with bt cause i have this restarting problem whenever i try to download . so can u give me some recommendation

Nearly all PCs work with BitTorrent just fine! Just get a relatively recent one-- it needn't even be more than 1.5GHz.

Blue Screens of Death when torrenting usually are caused by a crap network card (or its drivers). You should go buy a real one, like a 3Com. They're thrice as expensive as the cheapest ones on the market, but worth it.

You wont get the Blue screen on Windows XP from my experience.

If you still have Win 98, then thats part of the problem IMO. I suggest an OS upgrade.

You shouldn't have any problems with BT when using a recently built PC - as others have mentioned - unless, perhaps, some of the components like RAM are crap. BT can stress your system a great deal, but I haven't any problems with BT on either of my Dell laptops, though.

I haven't tried using BT on my self-built Athlon 64 system yet, however, but it shouldn't have any problems... I hope. 64-bit systems should not break... please.

Err... I was referring to the fact that on winxp, BSoD's have been "renamed" to spontaneous reboots.

Tritium, not all cheap ethernet cards behave like that. Some people might have problems with the NIC you mentioned, some might not. Just buy a good 3com or something and you don't have to worry about stuff like that.

Uhh... That's just two components you listed, and neither of them have much influence on whether or not BT will crash your computer (actually, it's mostly dependent on the OS and the network card drivers, like I've said the whole time in this thread)

Investing in a 3com NIC is usually a good choice since some of their NICs have a limited lifetime warranty.

You could get a motherboard with a built in network card. Should be cheaper also.
