Since I didn't get to see it yet, I ended up going to the episode 18 thread at Macross World instead,

Dr. Mao! And Grace! Two of the three behind research on the v-type virus that's afflicting Sheryl. Sheryl was a test subject.

Apparently Sheryl has the v-type virus and is going to die. o_O
They better find a bloody cure damnit.

The third person behind the v-type virus research was Ranshe Mei...Ranka's mother. I wonder if there is some connection with this virus and the Vajra...

Watched the raw....I'm laughing at one particular scene where....

....Alto gets mistaken for a girl. Yes, Alto, show him that Adam's Apple!


However...
- oh well....at least Sheryl is NOT　A clone but she's got some v-type virus. But she was kept alive through Grace? Of course, Sheryl doesn't stand for this and says she'll be fine...Grace claims that both her career AND her will bite the dust.
- Dang....Sheryl CD's now 50% off. I'd like to slap those 3 girls...they start praising Ranka after scoffing at the Sheryl. Alto's doesn't look too pleased after hearing that.
- LOL, Klan, finds out from Michael's slip, that this investigation is for Sheryl but then Sheryl barges in.
-Ha! So Dr. Mao was part of the V-Type infection project as the project leader....along with Grace AND Ranshe.
So despite her condition, Sheryl pleads to see Alto and says. I'll be okay, I'm Sheryl Nome!"...I wanna cry at this point.
- Michael calls Alto to inform him of Sheryl and then Alto goes searching for her.
- Damn...Sheryl (while walking in the rain) catches a press conference With President Glass and Ranka being televised.
- Bah! Tsuchiro was right...it WAS Alto's brother....which Sheryl mistaken's for Alto...poor thing.
- Well, Alto manages to catch up to Niisan and Sheryl being carried into a Taxi but Niisan says more or less not to worry and then slams the door LOL.
- Okay, so it was Monica and Bobby who were fighting over a piece of clothing Hahaha! Kathy appears to be caught up in the same as well...having purchased more than the other bridge bunnies. That is until they get the alert.
BLek....Ranka moment....she comes in and saves the day with her crappy Aimo.
- Ooooh...the attack against Vajra effected Ranka. *smiles*

Oh and a couple more things.....AWESOME NEW OP....and Aimo sounds MUCH better in the eyecatch.

Okay, break over so back to work

And, *again* a scene where we can see how exactly Ranshe Mei looks like Sheryl, only with green hair and purple eyes.

So, while the whole "clone of/engineered from the genes of Ranshe Mei" thing is kinda dead in the water, there still needs to be some connection. Right? Right?!?

Well, that didn't go as I expected... but it's okay.

With Sheryl going to the Saotome house, I guess she'll be finding out about Alto's past. I was hoping he'd open up and tell her. But, looks like Alto will at least bend enough to go visit her - he wouldn't go "home" for his "dying dad" but would for Sheryl. Though she might end up staying there for a while until she can be cured.

Sheryl hasn't quite lost it yet - when Grace told her she was going to die, she initially brushed it off and told Grace it'd take more than that to unsettle her. After all, she's literally climbed up from nothing - the gutters of Galaxy. But, as I expected, Grace really twisted the knife - and enjoyed it too.

After being rather calm and settled down (compared to the start of the series), Alto is a lot more high-strung this episode. And his piloting skills seem to have gone down.


PS We seem to be increasingly being shown Ranka and Sheryl singing together. Personally, I'd like to see them save the galaxy together - "Ranka + Sheryl Attack" FTW - or "Sheryl + Ranka Attack" if you prefer

PPS Is that a Vajra in a big specimen case in the background in that pic of the 3 scientists..?

Sheryl insisted that Michel not tell Alto about her condition. Klan questions whether this is a good idea. She said as a woman she understands. She is really sympathizing with Sheryl here and thinks Alto should be told. Michel says they won't tell but that there is still something they can do, which is to call Alto and tell him to look for Sheryl.

So much for people saying Michel is displeased with Sheryl and Alto being together and is only a Ranka shipper. He is supportive here. Not saying he still doesn't like Ranka, he does but he is clearly not so biased as people believe.

Oh and did people notice the short clip of Sheryl doing Aimo during the eyecatch? I'd love to hear the whole thing of her version, it sounds really melancholy and beautiful.

Yes true...too much of the opposing side seems to base their evidence on Michael's supposed (non-consensual)facial expressions which most of the time are non-existant.


Hmmm...it's sort of exhilarating looking over my shoulder to see if the boss is coming LOL.

That was indeed the better version of Aimo...with such feeling. It's how it should be done.
