Ep 5 was enjoyable like the others. That girl... those 2 low side pig-tails are super cute!

Those features definitely help to make her appealing. She's currently one of my favorites in the series. Although to be honest I like the girls in general. Which helps quite a bit. In general, this is turning out to be one of the better series of the season for me.

Ah yes, I like all the girls in this series too (minus the grumpy hag).

But the ahoge stuck out to me so much it made me favour her more
And good god! another ahoge character! ^^

Now that I'm somewhat sober....

For some reason... Kouchou is so freaking adorable.

It's almost downright hilarious that the entire team as no stamina at all. Most of them are getting better at it but Akiko still passes out at the same exact spot during land training.

Go ahead , sorry was avoiding this thread since the airing of Ep 5...

Just watch Ep 5, and seriously this series is just so hilarious (i was seriously smiling and laughing for the whole 20 minutes of this ep)
Spoiler for Ep 5:

I loves this anime, it just hit me in the right spot everytime
I like how the girls's reaction were synthesized. It just looks hilarious wheather they are clueless or surpried all togerther. Then the BGM and the sound in the back ground used perfectly too. Like in this Ep 5 when they have the bell sound (the kind of bell which ring in Buddha temple to pray for the death's soul xD) after the 1st hellish lap. Then how the music was suddenly stop in the end after they heard the word "running" and every1 froze

PS: sad to seeing this series is not popular enough. Only a handful of us here ;__;

I like the subtlety in the change of emotions the characters display sometimes. Sometimes their eyebrow barely moves or whatnot.

I think it was earlier in episode five where all the girls blinked at the same time. That's not unusual for an anime, but I still found it amusing considering how far away they were from the "camera's" view.

Kouchou is so adorable. I have no idea why I have a compulsion to say that whenever I feel like it.

Ep 5 was full of them little moments that make it on a whole just great!
Like with the stuff risingstar3110 mentions, along with loads others it all just comes together brilliantly.

Personally, I'd take it as a sign of dedication to her. Still yeah, she is adorable. *Is still partial to Kyouko*

OMG, I almost got diabetes from watching ep. 5. Too much sugary sweetness from those ultra cute uniforms.

Love the series. I think the lesbian kendo girl and her pseudo-fanclub are a bit out of place considering the era the series takes place in, but it doesn't take anything away from the fun of the show.

Good stuff! Thumbs up.

Lesbianism and/or bi-curious infatuations existed before 1950 you know.

Just as a note, Taishou Yakyuu Musume is a show that really should be watched in widescreen. The fullscreen version is just a cropped version of the original, and the framing looks much worse as a result. So do yourself a favor, and check out the proper version . I've got to admit that this is probably my favorite of all the shows that started airing in the summer, and that's true even given the quality of shows like Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 and Aoi Hana.
