Good futuristic Matrix style animes?

Hi, I'm complete noob to animes, so I ask whats are some real good but I mean real badass animes that will make me keep comming back? or classic animes that I better watch to call myself an anime fan?

I'm a huge matrix fan, so if u got some that go that direction even better!

To show you how noob I am, I only seen Akira and Ghost in the shell.

Better if there movies rather than a series.

thx

A classic movie I insist you watch or you die is Spirited Away. It's probably got little to do with the Matrix, you might think it's boring or something, but it's really really nice. Not soppy or REALLY boring, but great. With wonderful animation. Many anime fans have seen this, you should too. \o/

Futuristic... why not try Serial Experiments Lain or something like that. Or maybe Neon Genesis Evangelion. I know the Wachowski brothers like watching anime or something, I think they might have watched NGE. NGE is a turning point in anime history.
