This anime is being made mostly by Russians? Can we still consider it an anime (rather than "russian animation") in that case?

While the production is run by Russians, the animation itself is made by Studio 4°C, which is one of the most acclaimed Japanese anime studios out there. Unless one were to go with the "must be completely made by Japanese people" definition of anime, First Squad would certainly count as one. And really, this wouldn't work as a Japanese-only production.

I don't know what to think about this one i'm the kind of guy that prefer to see a Live Action Movie of WWII, maybe if the anime was realistic, cause i love historical stuff , but nevertheless i'll try to open my mind for this one.

Depends on where you are. It might be in theaters in Russian or Japan, but I doubt it would be in North America. It will probably be in Russian.

First Squad premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, so it might take a while for any news to come out.

Well, if you're looking for a realistic live action World War II movie, there's a ton of them out there; especially if you aren't restricted to English-language films. The main problem might well be acquiring a version that you understand...

A lot of non-English World War II movies come with subtitles. Most of my collection isn't English speaking(I have a lot of German movies). Since you are already use to subtitles, this shouldn't be too hard ha.

German films are easy . It's the Mosfilm collection that's difficult to track down in English - they've probably made as many good World War II films as the rest of the world combined.

Well, I can certainly wait that long. If they're going through different film festivals like that, there's a good chance that the English-subtitled version will screen at the Toronto International Film Festival.
