I had the same thought at first!

Is this going to be a series ot an OVA? It really doesn't matter since the My-HiME/Otome crew are working on it.

I don't know how you could grab anything from that trailer. All I got was "Whoooooo Colony and holy crap we're going down to earth the end". Although I have to say one thing, I KNEW IT! I knew they'd through mecha in there. I guarantee that if you locked the Hajime Yatate team in a room for 24 hours and told them to come up with a new franchise that doesn't involve mecha of any kind then by the end of the first hour they'd start going into involuntary convulsions and when you came back 24 hours later they'd all have committed suicide and left a note saying that they couldn't handle the pressure.

As for the guy who asked about casting, I don't know for sure but I'd bank on top calibre seiyuu. Expect the likes of Yukana, Yukari Tamura, Ami Koshimizu, Mai Nakahara, Rie Kugimiya etc. at the very least.

From just this, it seems like this anime could turn out either interesting or painful (as in, the actions/attitudes of the characters, of course, just to make sure). For now, the voices and what ever they were doing is leaning on the painful side... 痛い痛い...

While I pretty much agree with everything you say from what I've seen so far of this show (I've actually commented earlier that I was weary of these shows in the same vain as Mai Hime), I think it's also important to keep in mind that this is coming from the studio/creative team that's famous for pulling the rug out from under everybody and turning series that look forgettable at first into popular and well received franchises by the end of their run.

It's going down the cute girls + mechas route all over again ^^'

As long as it doesn't try to be something it isn't (lets say trying to turn a fun premise into a seriously angsty one) I think it should work out fine.

It was sort of obvious that this series would contain some relation to "mecha" though if you'd looked at the character designs or any of the promotional graphics...





I think her outfit/attire and hair dress scream mecha o= ... I mean the way her vest holds up her breasts like that... and the title also does happen to be "Girl Who Lept Through Space"
