Spoiler for Interview with Lead Writer:

Spoiler for First minutes of gameplay:

I read about this game at the usual X button column on ANN and got curious, cause I recall hearing about this before, but never looked into it. And when I did... oh BOY was I impressed!!!! The fairytalish style and vibrant, creative backgrounds look captivating. The combat looks like it took a page out of Grandia's system, except the fact that its turn-based. The game supposedly has a lot of dialogue that's always in a rhyme, certainly far from the usual style of storytelling in a rpg, so it'll be interesting to see how well it's integrated into the story =03. They say the game is "big", though, many developers say this, so I'm not expecting it to be any longer than a good couple of hours(5~8). Longer than that, and color me more impressed =03. With what's been shown, 15 dollars to try this out seems like a steal. Just call me Lupin the 4th, cause its mine!

The aesthetic was developed in consultation with Cirque du Soleil, among others (reference).

Oh, and don't forget to watch this site if you're interested in getting the tuneage (your choice of MP3s or an actual CD).

Definitely grabbing this one when it drops. Not sure about those speech bubbles though, they look jarring compared to the rest of the atmosphere. Maybe it should have taken a cue from Journey and let the atmosphere speak for itself.

Did anyone get a chance to download it? So far, the game really beautiful to look at almost like a storybook in motion. The gameplay gave me Valkyrie Profile vibes with its platforming and the battles are definitely like Grandia 2. Controlling that little firefly companion pretty much made it ideal to use the Wii U gamepad and, I bet to a certain extent, the PC version as well.

I have a hate/love relationship with this game.

On one hand, it's plot is so endearing.

On the other hand, it feels way too quick and feels like it deserves a follow-up. Sadly, the way the game has been made and how it plays out doesn't really make it seem like it will have a sequel.

Spoiler for HUGE Plot Spoiler:

How long it took to you to finish it?

Just looking at it from a storyline perspective. I don't have the luxury of having it for myself, I just backseat-played with my friend a few days ago. Liked it enough for me to watch the rest online.

.....yeah, I'm one of those sort of gamers.

I guess it's around 9 hours.

Thanks for the reply.

If it's that short, I may end up renting it instead.

I don't think I'll get this. I have the demo and I got massacred.

Eventually I got a hang of the battles, but then what comes up? A puzzle! Nope. Can't do this.

I think it's a good game, but for me I need an easy mode...

The protagonist looks so much like Princess Bubblegum it's uncanny.
