Honestly, only Japanese scoring with the point system, the difference for dealers, and all the additional point values they have (dora, the different yaku, etc) is that complicated.

Canto scoring is much, much less complicated.

(And yes, there's more than a few characters who are canon gay. I'd say one of them seems like she's going to finally confess for real and bring everything into the open after the tournament ~su.)

No, completely impossible. Normally you can only get +/- 0 when you are second place.

What Saki would need to do to win would be to have the most points at the end of this han-chan. She can do this by either grabbing more points than Koromo, or by making Koromo lose those points. +/- 0 are points that are tabulated after a han-chan under standard rules, and it's not being used during this tournament.

By the way, the +/- 0 score isn't really an egalitarian score or anything like that, it just means that you managed to get a very specific number of points. Getting it means that you came in either second or third place in that han-chan.

Maybe she'll start imagining "OK, let's say Koromo has a 200000 points lead... What do I need to do to get +/- 0?"

Hello everyone,

Its a bit late but, I just watched the last episode and it was good especially the last five minutes. It totally made my day lol. From the beginning of the match, I know that Saki will be doing something awesome but really rescuing Kana using that method did not even cross my mind. It is totally crazy and unexpected but strategically sound considering everything else.

But, still that gotta take a ridiculous amount of guts because by allowing Kana to ron her. Koromo and Saki's point difference is about 100,000 right? I'm wondering how the hell will she be able to pull out a win now somehow or even make it a close game considering the point difference.

P.S. I officially declare that Saki should always smile while playing. Not only does it make her look badass but, it seems to be a sign of interesting plays.

(Congress President Hisa should get Nodoka to give Saki a pep talk for every match. Really she seems to be the only thing that is motivating their taisho if the montage is any indication... )

Btw, spectrum-san, I agree with you on the nature of surprise waiting for Yumi from a certain someone.

It's called Akagi face poker face, and it's part of the metagame really. I think there are simply too many ways to intimidate your opponent when you're playing a game of chance, especially if it's gambling. For good or for ill, it's a necessity. The best display of such skill so far was by Hisa *tile toss!*.

Spoiler for Akagi again:

I find it funny that episode 17 had Gundam music during the part where Kana and captain were talking. It's okay if people don't get what I mean by that, because I'm still wondering myself why this episode had a totally different calibre of music compared to the rest. It's like Yasunori Mitsuda and Shigeaki Saegusa snuck into the studio and swapped out the usual soundtrack for one they duoed on.

Anyway, with Koromo's power apparently having something to do with the moon and the night I was seriously getting some Castlevania vibes during the whole of her scenes. I half expected the Dance of Illusions to start playing during her winning rounds in the prior episode 16. Who knows, maybe she'll be waiting in the Master's Keep in the next game instead of Dracula. After all, her indirect influence seems to be akin to that of a soul sucking vampire.

Good news, I found this in another board:

Saki (Gonzo)
2009/07/15 *6,996 Vol. 1 Limited Edition (Two episodes up to Vol. 2)

This is quite decent. I guess Saki will reach 10,000 copies. Or at least come close to it.

And the source for his data was actually here:
http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=60985

Can Saki and Strike Witches save Gonzo?

Very unlikely. Most sales are done in the first two weeks. It will maybe hit 8000-9000. Next volume will be even more interesting with the LE dakimura pack-in.
