If you are a historian what you talk about is the Root or the Branch by which some one plays. if you are listening to type of music, you go back to base of a branch of a style of playing. You referance style of play to a major branch.

like the jazz sax style that follows the line of lester Young, Charlie Parker, Coletrane. Someone who is a student of music will think in terms of the origin. What defines a style of rock guitar is either going to be US American or British. those are the countries where Rock was defined.

I don't think they are disregarding the Japanese artist it's just what defines a rock guitar is wholly western.

OMG! She bought a $2,500.00 Les Paul? That's quite an investment for someone who hadn't even considered whether she'd be playing professionally.

The guitar shop scene was pretty interesting. Reminds of my first time ever being into one. Strats, Teles, ES-335s, SGs, and even the Ibanez Paul Gilbert models were on display. I would have picked the Ibanez. The painted f-holes are funky, it's cheaper than that Les Paul by up to half the price, and is a better guitar for shredding by having lower action and a faster neck. Les Pauls and Strats have baseball bats for necks.

I'm a bit relieved to find that the bass amp at the school was a cheap Fender. I'd be pretty depressed if it were SWR, Eden, Aguilar, Glockenklang, or some other high-end system, which Mugi can probably bat her eye-brows for and afford.

Yui has such a charming, endearing personality. I love it.

So far so good. Nothing too special, but nothing too boring either. First the band is formed, now Yui goes to buy a guitar, next would be Yui learning to play the guitar. It's the chemistry of the characters getting together that's soothing to the soul, at least for me, that is.

I suspect we still haven't seen the best of Mio's shy personality yet. Mio, kawaii yo, Mio. (Even Yui agrees)

In the end, Mugi had to abuse her ojou-san position a bit to help out her friend, her trademark thick eyebrows ended up being more than just a physical feature. I won't be surprised if this becomes a running gag.

I wonder if someone's posted this.

And here's an interesting video gallery of the locations in Kyoto used for the anime scenes.

Just watched Episode 2. Going to write my article soon, but I have a question first.

Anyone knows which specific Yamaha drum kit model is Ritsu using? I have absolutely no clue whatsoever.

Comparing the comic and the anime together. I must say that so far, the pacing is reasonable. Perhaps KyoAni learned from Lucky*Star?

As much as I love the gilbert models, I think the JS series are much better.

I just watched the 2nd episode... I liked it. Although I feel the story is moving quite slowly. It's still one of my favorite animes this season. ^^

It exists in the netherlands, some students i knew did it. Would earn a normal fee i reckon 8euro's an hour? from what i read in topic. 250.000Y=2.500dollar so 8000 yen = 80 dollar
they did counting for what a total of 8/16 hours?
so 5/10 dollars an hour which makes eh considering the dollar is worth NOTHING still a lousy salary

eeee Just watched episode 2 (eng subs). I thought it was really good. I like these kind of episodes where yu just follow the characters around, with gags added in and such. I wish I could play guitar, I play a bit of acoustic... but not very much. Not that motivated fufu~

They jumped straight into the slice of life and I think it is so well done. Reminds me of all the slice of life aspects in Kanon, Clannad and Air. Not quite so much Haruhi since that show was just way too random with the slice of life. Ditto with Lucky Star.

Also, the big eyebrowed Tsugumi reminds me of Honoka in Pretty Cure. Both with huge eyebrows, absurdly rich, princess-like and with a ton of food and other gifts!
