Not that I identify with Lelouch's specific issues, but as a chronic sufferer of depression and having to relive certain less-than-pleasent moments in my lifetime, I can say you never get off easily. Yes a loving family eases the pain, but it will always be there.

Oh please. I mean, we're going through a bit of a rough patch, but we're hardly on the verge of revolution or fascism (on the contrary, everyone's complaining that Obama is gonna turn us into a socialist nation).
In this day and age, the differences between Socialism and Fascism have been blurred. Both ideologies call for the centralization of government and administration into a single controlling party (usually with no alternative parties and no voting rights for non-party members), as well as the ideology that "all are equal" (though certain demographics and people linked to the government are more equal than others to borrow from Orwell), individual freedom is frowned upon and internal security is paramount above all else (although we're probably the first case where native citizens are treated as larger dangers than openly hostile foreigners). Really, the only difference that I can think of between Fascism and Marxism, supposedly direct opposites, is that Fascists openly promote a class-based social structure while Marxists pretend that's abolished but continue holding onto it in reality.

But enough political philosophy. I don't want to start a debate, but I will say this much: taking Bonzo's statements in, Italy seems to be in a similar situation as America, as both have governments that are striving to overstep their boundaries and are ideologically driven to the point of causing more harm than good for the sake of keeping to their ideologies. For that, among other things, I sympathize with his plight.

And as far as a revolution goes, I live in the southwest and I've personally seen just how fed up people are with the current government. In fact, we have a saying down here that Obama is the best thing that's ever happened to the gun industry, since sales have only risen since he became Prez.

If you want to continue with this line of discussion, then I would appreciate it if you PMed me over it, since I don't want to impede on Bonzo's thread.

For the rest, Cornelia has a gunblade, yes, but after all, Nonette was her "sempai" and teacher in the academy.

About Lelouch's suffering, yes he can find peace a day, but not easy, because he's obliged to lie to his children, about his past, etc...etc...
Their children are the happines for Kallen and Lelouch, but lie to them is a big suffering.

For Africa guerrilla, well, often their motivation are unknown, religion, territory, diamonds, drugs, or just violence....

At last the new royal knights are very different by the knight of round, Nunnally wanted a group of soldier like her rapresentatives, and at the same time peace messenger.
For that motivation, Nunnally select women, because a woman is a life-bearer, then the best peace example and more reflexive of the man.

Royal knights:

suzaku kururugi: you know, he's a little obsessed and paranoid

nonette enneagram: cheerful and optimist.

gino weinberg: always a hoaxer, but more serious, he isn't a teenage anymore.

amanda bradley: a very bad temper cause her ear-complex, but very kind and sweet if you respect her.

kyoko li britannia/enneagram: a reckless tomboy when free by duty, but obey always the orders.

Josčphine li britannia/enneagram: the most peaceful girl, she refuse every violence.

I forgot, Nina created the solar spectrum engine (see turn 25.59) but more than to have a new identity, the new patent passed like "property of Ashford industries" then without a specific creator's name.

Ashford work directly for Nunnally and Britannia empire, then the countries with hostility against the new engine are more cautios.

To menace Ashford = antagonize Britannia empire.

Oh one question Bonzo, why won't Lelouch ever find peace in his mind/heart?

His goal was to create a better world for Nunnally to live in. The future that you've presented seems quite peaceful and Nunnally appears to be both safe & happy. Furthermore all of his surviving BK's and Ashford friends have moved on and are living peacefully. Wouldn't Lelouch find that the conditions of the world now, compared to previously have been worth the many sacrifices he both engineered and endured?

I ask because it seems rather tragic that he should stay so 'down in the dumps' for so many years. It's even more tragic since Kallen, out of choice, is bearing the weight of his sorrows as well.

Lelouch isn't able to find peace because in his mind he doesn't feel himself worthy to live happily.

Too much remorse about Euphemia, Shirley...he wanted to die, Suzaku broke the promise because he understood what could be the best punishment for them, this before to know about C.C testament.

At Last, thanks to Kallen, Lelouch seems more serene, but try to imagine, he must lie always to his children, about his past, and more other things, he always lied to the other for commodity, strategies, etc...but Naoto, shirley, nicholas, elizabeth, they're his children, his blood.
Kallen must lie too, but she hasn't the same ugly secrets.

That isn't a happy situation.

Okay, the OAV is on work, six page 100% done.

Just a note, more time ago, I showed the first three pages, well, don't consider them anymore.

The story will start in a different way, I'll recover just some panel of old page three.

Interesting. So the Brits develop an airborne version of the Nimitz-class supercarrier (which in turn reminds me of the Uraga-class from Macross), along with several support ships and Knight Giga Fortresses. Considering the lack of any massive world wars, I'm surprised Nunnally is advocating military advancement, but then America has made that all but a national pasttime in reality (though the Anointed One has been trying to end it). All in all kudos to Nunnally for being realistic as opposed to the Relena Peacecraft politician people took her for.

Last preview page:

Spoiler for about kaguya sumeragi.:

Yes, my idea isn't a news, in the original manga she become japan first minister, but there's a limit for the absurdity too...a 15 years old first minister?! come on...:P

In my story she become first min. at the age of 27, always a very young age for a politician, but there' s some more plausibility.

@wing zero alpha:

Nope, that's really the old Nimitz carrier, they recovered the disarmed ship at the museum and built the new britannia mother-ship.

After the war, Nunnally gived order to dismatle a big part of britannia army like peace proof and she give up the use of sakuradite, in a time of 12 years, britannia scientist, ashford labs in primis, enveloped new energy source for military and civil use, at last the Avalon is one of few old survived ships, all the rest is a new fleet, few ships but very powerful, every ship use a fusion-reactor and they're able to fly without break for 8-9 years, the knightmares and aicrafts use a similar engine system, but unable to recharge himself, then they need refuel energy from the ships.

The aircrafts and tanks army are new models too, every unit designed to fight against knightmares too.

Well, as far as Bandai is concerned, teenagers running countries isn't out of the ordinary. Just look at the Gundam metaseries.

As for the rest, Nunnally dismantling most of the Britannian military is logical, since the Empire (if it's still an Empire) is not as large as it was under Charles. Not sure about giving up the usage of sakuradite though, as for all intents and purposes it's a clean and viable energy source; the only reasons I can think of Nunnally abandoning that for alternate means is because 1.) it's only abundant in Japan (as far as I know with your series) or 2.) the new Solar Generators (nuclear fusion?) grant more power.

And speaking of the Solar Generators, I see that they work much like the GN Drive Taus from Gundam 00 and are used similarly. Makes sense. Will there be new knightmares as well beyond the Royal Knights' models or will the old models, a la Vincents, Vincent Wards and Gareths, be refitted to utilize solar generators in place of Yggdrasil drives?

So the Nimitz got a Space Battleship Yamato makeover huh? That's actually pretty cool; I always like the idea of recommissioning "old ships" and upgrading them beyond their original designs. In fact, I've always hoped that the USN does that to the Iowa-class battleships that we still have in reserve. I am curious however: is it called the Nimitz in your story or did you give it a more "Britannian" sounding name, a la Ark Royal?

As for new aircraft and tanks, not sure what good those would do against knightmares, which can move around in three dimensions in all fields. I can imagine bombers and gunships (Spookys) as far aircraft are concerned, as well as artillery-oriented tanks, but fighters/attackers and main battle tanks are a bit farfetched at this point.

Oh, forgot to ask but on that map, is South America divided from Britannia as well or is it still part of the "Empire"? Not sure if it could be divided from the whole of Britannia, with how long it has been in Imperial hands (side materials claim it was Area 6).

Well, japan has the only giant sakuradite depot in the world, all the other already used by britannia.
Thay attacked japan for that after all.

At the end of r2remake, the sakuradite monopoly is totally under japan control, Nunnally want give up from that mineral because that's was the war cause.

The Britannia knightmare army is composed by old vincent ward, akatsuki and the royal knights customs.
There're more glowcester too, but very obsolete, just for training school.
All the gareths were dismantled, for the limit of hadron weapons, decided by all the nations.

Their robots are modified with the elimination of sakuradite superconductors and use a macrofusion core, but that system need to be filled of energy by a fusion-reactor, for this the new britannia fleet is composed by giant kmf/aircraft carriers.

The new knightmare model (showed in the OAV) will be the first one with a solar-specter furnace.

Before the new engine wasn't so powerful, good for cars, bikes and trucks, but not for more big vehicles, ships, or airplanes.

Airplanes and tanks have a special design for to fight against a knightmare, you will se them in the OAV, during the new knightmare test.

At last, the real head decide about military question is Cornelia, Nunnally is the empress, but they work in tandem, two brains like a single person.

Maybe it's just the TV shows, movies, and news I've been keeping up with lately, but civilians seem to be featuring more and more in armed conflict from those sources lately. It used to be that armed forces were distinctly uniformed and pounded the living daylights out of each other while the civilians were left alone, if only to pay the new taxes of their new conquerors.

Now they:
  • Often turn out to be terrorists in disguise
  • Get killed indiscriminately "just because"
  • Get used as human shields
  • Get taken hostage and used for "leverage"
  • Get tortured when the heroes "don't talk"
  • Hold valuable secrets that they tell no one until it's (almost) too late.

It's like no one knows who's going to be pointing a weapon at you anymore. But it does keep these dramas interesting, especially Bonzo's OVA.

Since when have civilians not gotten "caught in the crossfire" anywhere in real world history or in the media? Some of the worst conflicts in history were fought by people dressed in plain clothes as opposed to a uniform of some kind, and even as far back as the 1930s civilians were getting caught up and/or massacred in movies and comic books, no small thanks to the lingering influence of World War I.
