Nodame Cantabile: Finale

Chopin is one of my favorite classical composers, so it brings a smile to my face when i see episode such as this.

Chopin's Etude Op. 10, No. 4 in C Sharp Minor was one of my favorite pieces in the first season. I was hoping No. 12 in C Minor would get in the spotlight as well, but you can't have them all. That and Fantaisie-Impromptu.

To echo everyone, episode 9 was magnificent from start to finish. I'll be sad when this show is over.

I've been sitting here for the past half hour trying to think of a word to describe how amazing ep 9 was, and I can't. It was just too good.

Being a musician myself and also having met plenty of technically accomplished musicians some of them were possessed of what I'd like to call "instability".

Yeah. Joojoobees has a point about Auclair.

I could see Nodame going "Streseman heard my playing and felt I'd progressed hugely since the last time I played for him and INSISTED I debut with him."

Even if Streseman called him personally to explain, there's a problem here: Nodame basically lied about being sick.

We know Nodame is economical with the truth at times but it would be perfectly within his right to jettison her as a student no matter how good she is because if he
can't work with her, if he can't even trust that she'll show up regularly then there's no point in her being a student.

"It's just a show, I should really just relax."

On the other hand:

What teacher wouldn't be proud of the fact that his student debuted with a world renowned conductor prior to their graduation?

When you're grooming someone to be a world class musician, the music itself is
only part of the problem.

Can the would be performer handle the attention one gets as a professional?

Are they going to be able to be a professional on a business level?

Are they emotionally able to handle it?

These are pertinent questions.

exactly its not just about the music. Look at Chiaki he was raised around this his whole life. He is use to the media he is use the attention and the business aspect of it. Now look at Rui who after being the spotlight for quite some time nearly had a break down and had to stop for a while. Nodame personality can be volatile and unpredictable Auclair is thinking long term and he has every right too. The way he has approached Nodame instruction is for her own good so i can most def identify with why hes pissed and i agree.
