Well, it's not the number of votes, but rather the number of points.
When I did really well, I sometimes got over 2000 points.

As one of the people that followed Chinese Saimoe this year, I was disappointed with the tempering of the result. I heard people just started mass fake-voting using a program or something. I was really excited to be introduced to a different system where you play the game to get more points to win (which allowed the less popular character to advance if that character got more points than the opponent).

I followed the male division as well, and I was also heavily disappointed by Code Geass domination. Really, it was no fun when you could predict the result of every single match Lelouch was in. At least the female division had Shana to keep C.C. in check.

Chinese Saimoe might have been fun, but it's the most silly voting system I've ever seen.

A group of fanboi masters could really rack up point if they where to flawless victory...

Most moe by skill of the fanbase, and not most moe by moe, lol.

And how is it possible to be two points apart when there is a few million points to begin with...What are the odds of that?

Odd. In a country with over a billion people (ar they at two billion yet?)...a million doesn't seem like so much.

Well, it's at 1.3 billion right now, not including the children left unreported due to the one-child policy and Overseas PRCs not being included.

I think Hinagiku and Haruhi have the easier matches this time around. Hinagiku basically only needs to worry about Fate, and probably Horo. For Haruhi, it's basically, "Who's the superior KyoAni character." and C.C..

Haruhi's facing a lot of KyoAni characters, now that I look at it. 5/9 of her matches.
Oh hey, Nagisa's the same way. 5/9 of her matches are KyoAni too.

Haha, Reimu and Patchouli share 7/9 opponents in Aquamarine.
Actually, I'll do you one better. According to the schedule I have in front of me, Forty-Nine candidates will have to face Patchouli AND Reimu back-to-back. I am damn sure this alone could get Reimu up to the first tier thanks to some (clean) back-fire voting from the Touhou camp, not to mention that Reimu will be considerably stronger than Patchouli from the start. However, keep in mind that since Touhou is only one sector, and quite a small crowd compared to the "official anime" sector, she can only get so much. Still, expect her to make quite a showing thanks to a lucky draw.

So far the staffs have all kept their mouth shut about who really had the 2 extra point.

Also, apparently C.C.had a few more voters after the fake votes were removed but in Chinese Saimoe, the number of voters doesn't really count.
For the record, NEVER in my life would I declare co-champions, regardless of margin or participation. This is why everything is kept as clandestine as possible, so as to avoid disputes.

India's probably going to reach two billion first.

Since I refuse to abstain, I will join your campaign as long as she doesn't go against one of my characters.

That's not just for Aquamarine, that's for the whole tournament.

Add Aya and Suiseiseki and you can count me out of this one. I'm seeing this is a lost cause after the second match.

It is almost certain that you have to go 9 and 0 to have a shot at Aquamarine Necklace. As an Akari backer, I'm going to take the approach of 'Let's win the first match and see what happens."

I think Hinagiku is her greatest, and most deadly threat. Defeating her is like claiming top 16 material. And I don't see Akari making top 16...Even within Korea, Hinagiku is no less popular.

Going 9-0 may or may not be needed, depending on if everyone losses at least one match. Almost everyone seems to be up against someone they lost to last year (the high winner girls I mean). This means most of last years upset rematches are during the first period...thus it is highly possible that no one will go 9-0 thus opening up a route for someone that goes 8-1 to get a necklace.

Trust me, I've been simulating Aquamarine results for quite some time, and unless Shana does prove superiority over Taiga, the chances of an 8-1 winner in Aquamarine happening are 3:1.

It depends. Some characters only have to hurdle over a single character and they've got a otherwise free ride.

I realise that 5 of the characters in the contestant list are voiced by Kugimiya Rie.

I think we can already prove that tsundere = moe.
