Unhappy Some animes or manga with tragedy?

Hi after reading Absolute Boyfriend( zettai kareshi) and watching Bokura ga Ita I wanted to see sad animes and to read tragedy mangas, this don't mean I want the persons to die you can recommend animes/mangas that are tragedy but if you know it could be like one of the characters have to die( not suicide please) or just they had to separate . Do anybody know some , please??

You could try Saikano.

Do you mean romantic tragedies or just sad stories in general?

If it's romance, then Saikano might fit your bill.

If it's general, look no further than Grave of the Fireflies.

I second Grave of the Fireflies and to add some suggestions of my own:

Air
Blassreiter
Blue Drop
Clannad (movie)
Code Geass
Ice
Jigoku Shoujo
Mushishi

"Just had to separate"? In that case, try 5 Centimeters Per Second. It's about two childhood friends who had a crush on each other, but were eventually separated by distance and time.

I'm not sure what you mean by "don't mean I want the persons to die". Most tragedies involve some kind of death, peaceful or otherwise. If you like Grave of the Fireflies, I strongly recommend Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuioku Hen, the story of Rurouni Kenshin's origins. It's the only other anime that managed to rip my heart out. Heck, I was already reduced to manly tears by the end of its prologue. It's that good.

I can give you some romance manga suggestions: Hot Blooded Woman (it's korean, but don't worry, it's interesting), Mars, Cat Street, Paradise Kiss.

In the case of Paradise Kiss, you may check the anime directly. Oh yes, Nana too. But go directly for the anime (if you read the manga you can't hear the music !). The anime doesn't end the story, which follows in the manga (and it's still not over).

Ok, so I might have tricked you on some of those with regards to having separations/deaths, but you won't know until you read them !

animes including major deaths:

Chrno crusade
Death Note
Code Geass
Kurozuka
Blood+
PERSONA trinity soul

I second Grave of the Fireflies (so tragic that I can't bear to watch it a second time), Saikano (tragic love story) and Mushishi (not entirely tragic, but melancholy throughout the entire series, but I'm also seconding it for another reason, for pure aesthetic reason, beautiful stories, music and animation).

with " I don't mean I want persons to die" I meant that if anyone don't know a tragedy anime where people die that's ok xD...they can just separate

As I have mentioned it many time, try "A Dog of Flanders" if you want to see hard ship in life.

This anime doesn't give you any happy ending and it's tragic till the end.
Will someone give Nello and Patrasche some love.

Anime that I gave a "tragedy" tag (not just depressing) are SaiKano, Bokurano, Grave of the Fireflies, Mahoromatic, and Shigofumi.

A drama / romance manga i highly recommed is Bitter Virgin.

And for anime i would recommed Fate Stay Night.... the ending is simply too unfair / tragedic / sad >.<

"Bakeneko," the final arc of Ayakashi Samurai Horror Tales, is pretty tragic. It's on sale in R1 as "Goblin Cat" and currently sells for <$!0 at RightStuf. Amazing visuals and a great protagonist to boot.
