i really liked it in a laid back way ... and yeah ... Touhou would rule as a slice of life with the odd action scene played purely for laughs

allready the first time she said anything i knew that Reimu was Mai Nakahara ... specially later on when she noted that Marisa and Aya should do "less talking, more investigating" ... completely the same tone as when Mai said basicly the same line in Mai-HiME

Heck, just read Curiosities of Lotus Asia, Inaba of the Earth/Inaba of the Moon, and the Three Michievous Fairies series.

CHADO's works are not a good reference for an adaptation, as they essentially take the 'action' segment of the Touhou games and turn it up full throttle. FLIPFLOPS (or heck, Mizutataki) is a better reading.

Again, it is too much to ask a fully animated danmaku duel (or game, since the Danmaku Duel rules are codified as such) from a fan effort. Even something on the level of IaMP/SWR is going be beyond as small as Maikaze's production.
Yeah, I know there's that slice of life stuff, but that just feels rather.. pedestrian to me compared to the fandom it got thereafter especially with the danmaku. I do agree that the characters still hog the spotlight a bit because there's bigger and better danmaku games out there nowadays.

These. I'd sooo love to see them animated. And FlipFlop's doujins (besides the 4komas) even have good bits of action as well.

Flipflopps does the best of the two worlds. I like Happy Flame Time's blend of slice-of-life and comedy too, the fact that she focus a bit more on the Yakumo house and the Moriya shrine is a bonus.

Spoiler for the most badass beetle ever:

That's because, y'know, there are few other danmaku games with actual CHARACTERS, instead of ships.

Just to put a really OUT THERE theory on who stole the donation box. Yasaka Kanako. It's the Moriya Shrine Conspiracy yet again, and the Snake goddess has plans, oh yes....

Hmmm.

I don't know. I mean yes Kanako could be a suspect but I get the feeling that so far we'll most likely get to see mainly the cast of Embodiment of Scarlet Devil and Perfect Cherry Blossom, and that'd be already more than enough in terms of character to cover. Also don't forget other objects disappeared as well... what would she gain from angering Remilia?

My two cents are still on Yukari being the culprit, and Yuyuko being the reason of it.

Well, Yukari have shown to do things just for the sake of raising chaos. Yuyuko's hunger? A very possible reason behind the disappearance of a whole food supply.

Its probably Yukari, trolling everybody like always...

With that said, who I do want to see in the second vol is Alice. An AlicexMarisa fight would be cool too, but that might be too much for a Doujin studio (Alice's dolls, Marisa's overly flashy danmaku).

If reisen and tewi were in the Maikaze anime, I want tewi to be voiced as Satomi Koorogi(whom played pichu) and for reisen Rumi Shishido (who was onpu from magical doremi). I think they both have really cute voices for them especially tewi's voice. <3

I hope folks here remember the first video (released four years ago!) Maikaze released when they expressed interest in making a fan anime of Touhou... It had Youmu and Yuyuko in it, plus Alice as well. So yeah, despite my really out there pick of the Moriya Shrine duo, it's probably one of the folks from Perfect Cherry Blossom.

Then again, it might have been one of the SSS (Second Stage Squad)...

No word as of yet. People are hoping for a preview this Reitaisai, and maybe something concrete by C76.

Do take note though that it took 4 YEARS to even get to this release, so it's really up to Maikaze.

Official in what sense? I hope you don't mean "ZUN seal of Touhou authenticity" or anything of the sort...

technomo12: ZUN has made it patently clear that the anime is unofficial, and does NOT represent Touhou, but merely a fan-group's interpretation of the Touhou world and characters.

To know Touhou, you have to PLAY Touhou (something even someone who was exposed to the franchise via doujin HAS to do at least once).

Also, fix your grammar. ^^;
