Mmm... I knew about this series for quite a while, but never got interested enough to read it... Still don't know if I should buy and read it...
Maybe I'll give it a try and see what the anime has incoming or something or something... *mumble*

Private Hekiyou Academy's student council members are selected in a strange way. By a popularity contest!
As a result, starting with the president, Sakurano Kurimu, the council is full of girls. In the middle of all of them is one male student, Sugisaki Ken.
This work is the written documents of the daily lives of this student council.


It seems.
A comedy-type story, with parodies (particularly from Haruhi and Dragonball).

Also, there is a manga adaption on-going too.

So another shounen light novel series from the boy's light novel label Fujimi Fantasia Bunko is getting animated

Anyway, there's also a shounen manga adaptation of this light novel series, its being serialized in the shounen manga magazine Dragon Age Pure.

Ohhh Seitokai. finally confirmed!
VERY curious about how they would animate this thing.. 99% of the story was made up by the main characters talking in the student council room.

The comedy is good, I really lol-ed quite a bit when reading

But the parodies.. The novels are FULL of it, from manga, anime, games, other light novels, to Japanese tv shows or even the publisher... may be a problem if you're not familiar with these stuff To be honest I couldn't get all of them myself..

Oh the artist is Makura's main illustrator Inugami Kira. I've recently become a fan of his art style.
I'm always intereted in light novel adaptions (mostly to see how they turn out).

Makura's visual novels include

Sakura no Uta
H20
Root after and another
Supreme Candy

they have Inugami Kira as their illustrator. So thats why the art is similar.

LOL! talk about massive background re-use!! this could be a very low budget anime and still work according to the manga :P

True, here's the cast btw.

Takashi Kondo as Ken Sugizaki
Mariko Honda as Kurimu Sakurano
Misuzu Togashi as Mika Shiina
Yuka Saitou as Chizuru Momoji
Yuki Horinaka as Mafuyu Shiina

Takashi Kondo playing the male lead is the only one to have had a significant amount of roles.
