That's because Guin's manly nipples cause their minds to go all blank; and they're just too shy to talk about the manly nipples. ...Not that this series is all about the manly nipples. There is also the killing stuff with fire!

I wonder how many episodes there will be, I mean there are currently 123 light novels out, and if the anime is following the novel, then wow there could be over 50 episodes.

Wikipedia says anime will cover first 16 novels. So from what I've gathered about the pacing, that's going to end up around 30-something episodes?

This is turning into one of my favorite series this season. It's just very classic fantasy. No hot springs episode, no goofy ecchi jokes, no annoying clown characters. Well, whiny prince is whiny, but what can you do? Looking forward to seeing what happens the rest of the series.

That's some messed up math, dude.
There are 126 novels, and at the current rate, if they were to attempt to cover the whole series it would take over 250 episodes.

Hmm, a three cour series? 39 episodes used to be quite a common number.

Guin is just such a badass.

Episode 7 Raw:

Spoiler:

+ The characterization work. Even the mongauls grew likeable by the episode, even tho they are the antagonists.
+ The story and world keeps on pulling you in.
+ Music.
- Inconstant quality. If the close-ups on the characters are nice, the quality leaves to be desired when it is not close-up. At times, it stick out like a sore thumb.

Why should you keep on watching?

Because by the time the episode end, you want to watch more. In that regard, the director is doing something right.

EDIT:

On a second viewing, I can point out several things:

Indeed. This was another wonderful episode. ^_^

Spoiler for episode 7 contents:

Just one side note, maybe I'm reading too much into this, but the song played during the one "silly scene" reminded me a ton of FF's chocobo theme. ^_^;;

Why would you be reading too much into it? Both scores are composed by Nobuo Uematsu, so it's no surprise you'll hear similarities like that.

Well I myself cant help but be curious myself I would also like too know how such a great story just from watching 6 episodes of Guin saga turned into a 126(ongoing) light novel.

So please could someone also PM me all or atleast some of the details.

Im also really curious as well as perhaps many others, does the anime follow the manga or the light novel? If the anime follows the light novel could someone perhaps tell us how accurately the anime is to the light novel?

It follows the novel and in wikipedia it says the anime will cover the first 16 volumes of the novel.

Only the first 16 volumes? that seems kinda little I would have suggested they gone over 50 volumes, well it did say that they expected that the anime would cover the first 16 volumes.

Or is the reason they are only going too cover the first 16 volumes too see if it goes well then decide whether they should go over the 16 volumes into 17+.
