I don't have a particular favorite, but among the stuff I truly love are Guillemots and Stereolab. Stereolab especially, due to their relaxobomb style of music. "Sound-Dust" is one of the greatest things I have heard in ages.

DCT also sounds pretty solid, from what I have heard from them. I love Masato Nakamura as a composer, and the lead vocalist's voice really stands out beautifully.

If I had to choose one favourite band, it would be X Japan.
Their vocals are amazing, Yoshiki is a male idol of mine (Ayumi Hamasaki being my female one), and a majority of their guitar solos are mesmirising, notably the ones in the song Kurenai.
