Soul Eater had a good soundtrack - unique, modern and very fitting to the anime's theme and atmosphere.

While a lot of shows this season seem to be pretty good about having good soundtracks, I think the one I'm most looking forwards to is, surprisingly enough, Cross Game. The acoustic guitar pieces are just really relaxing and I'm definitely eager for a soundtrack release.

Part of what I do as far as spreading the love for anime music goes has resulted in quite a few new surprises and of the albums that I've been exposed to as of late, I gotta say that I really enjoyed the soundtrack to Giniro no Kami no Agito. It presents Taku Iwasaki during his (in my opinion) better days. This soundtrack is full of Iwasaki-isms (for the lack of a better word) and I found it really enjoyable. It's probably not as well known as some of his other works, but it certainly deserves a listen.

In my opinion, Jigoku Shoujo, Romeo x Juliet and Death Note have the best soundtracks.

Again ... after just watching it, I really loved the bg music in Samurai Champloo. EPIC.
Always fit perfectly. The Opening is infamous so I don't think I have to say much about it.
One of the best OSTs I heard. Only picking one is impossible xD

as far as soundtracks go, so far my favourite has to be Juuni Kokki. i love that the insert songs are all chinese influenced, which goes with the chinese theme presented throughout the anime. i also really like the opening and ending songs.

as far as just opening/ending songs, i would also add to the list:
claymore
death note
nana
basilisk

Agree on that 101%. Do you know the Piano and Kokyu albums? They are fantastic! The piano arranged version of Juuni Genmukyoku on the former album is my all time favourite.

It depends greatly on what kinds of music one likes.... also, OSTs often have background music that really just doesn't stand well on its own -- I'm usually happy if I like half the album.

5 or 6 tracks of AIR has good relistening value. About half of the Petopetosan OST... a fair amount of the Paniponidash OST.

I'm fond of the music from "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" as well.

Moving across the spectrum, the Gurren Lagann, Soul Eater, and SZS soundtracks were catchy. The recent Kyonogononi remake series used a lot of ZONE's hit music.
