No, Amazon buys the merchandise from the distributor at a certain price (wholesale price), and the MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) contains a certain "mark-up" that is supposed to be the store's profit margin. If Amazon chooses to sell the product for less than their wholesale price, they would eat that loss, but Amazon is not losing money on every DVD/BD they ever sell. (Because keep in mind that, within Japan, they offer free shipping, which also incurs a cost to them.) I think it is rather safe to say that the wholesale price is at least 30% less than the MSRP -- there has to be at least some margin there.

In the end, the merchant takes a cut, the distributor takes a cut, the manufacturer covers their costs, and what's left is what actually goes towards offsetting the actual costs of the show.

I was browsing through Kiyotaka's site when I saw these...

http://r-s.sakura.ne.jp/w/ice.htm

I goggle translated the text that was in there, and apparently, all of these are Telestina's character design.

I'm curious to why they didn't like the first design and they had to re-do her again.

The first one looks more like a tomboy-type of character. I guess the second one has more impact?

To be honest the first design has a more air to Kihara's family .

I just have a deep funny feeling that Telestina will be continued because of the tease implication that her grandfather may've actually created some kind of power in her when he messed with her to level her up as a girl. She just survived too easily at the end even after M gave her her all, so I'm banking she's going to be a prime heavy come the next round.

Have you guys rewatched both railgun DVD specials yet? To me I didn't expect that they had the 2nd one though.

BTW did that show just stuck on repeats?

I mean you'll hear both Saten & Uiharu repeating themselves during the start & the 2nd one where Mikoto said 'I knew it! That's how it is!' 4 times.

I've got a bit of a weird question, obviously Index is in it's second season now. Any idea what the likelyhood of Railgun having a second season is? I don't follow any novels so I don't know if there's enough material or anything.

Loved Railgun season one. ^^

Well looking at S1's useage of anime original episodes, I'd say they don't really need much manga material for an S2. That said, S1 used manga material up to volume 3, and volume 4 starts going into A Certain Index Crossover arc (no, that's not what it's officially called ), and they can't really split that up with anime original episodes like they did with the first three volumes; it would really kill the pacing and mood of the arc if they did. So that whole arc would have to be one straight shot through, from the beginning of volume 4 to the end of volume 5 and into volume 6 (where the real Index crossover starts), where the arc is probably going to end. So I think they might wait some more for an S2 unless they make S2 entirely about the new arc, but I don't see how they could stretch 3 volumes out for 24 episodes.

Then again, it's not like they're going to start Railgun S2 immediately after Index S2 anyway (that would mean Railgun S2 is only about two months away, and JC Staff would give much more early warning than that), so there will be more manga material to fit in their S2 along with anime original material anyway.

There's enough material for sure, assuming it's 24ep, the format would be the same as season 1- half of it is original while the other half is adapted from the manga story.

I'm listening at See visionS, and I can't wait to watch it unfold at next episode's Opening Credits. *-*

OH SNAP.
I saw the [NO SPOILERS] tag and instantly vented my excitement.
Well, who could you blame? It's a couple of days until the next episode starts. 8D
