Oh!

I'd prefer the summer though... Haa... Well, at least it is this year unlike some rumors suggested, so OK... Please be on a weekend, please be on a weekend, please be on a weekend, please be on a weekend...

I like Index though its clear Toma is the lead character, Briri-Briri is a fun character she'll have a good series.

Is the manga based on a sidestory of the novel or did they write the story from scratch?

Railgun has been written frokm the scratch, but it seems that author of TAMNI novels is also the author of Railgun manga (he doesn't illustrate the manga, of course).

Personally I think that Railgun is gonna be an awesome anime, given what Index has done so far. At least Biri Biri will provide us some amusing fights rather than lousy Touma who can only block with his "cheating" hand

As for the story goes, i'm kinda wondering if they gonna make some cross-reference with Index. You know, like maybe making some cameo appearance in Railgun? Especially giving the OP2 in Index, we can see Uiharu and Saten-chan walking along the street...

I don't know where to post this so I posted it in both this and Hayate.

Hinagiku Katsura (From Hayate) and Mikoto Misaka - both their personalities are very similar. They both are extremely smart (both even wear shorts!). They both also are the most popular characters for their series.

Does anyone know where these characters were inspired from? What's their popularity like for Males and for Females viewers of the show?

I don't know about where the character were inspired from, but for popularity, Hinagiku ranked 1st two times in popularity contest, both by blowing the second rank so she's very popular. I don't know about Misaka Mikoto, but judging from the response here it seems she's a very popular character.

Good. Then vote for Mikoto Misaka at Saimoe Int as a show of your devotion!

Haven't read any of the original stuff but from what I understand it'll probably be a straight up adaptation. October 2009 huh? Looking forward to it. *chalks up Railgun on the list of stuff to read*
