Regardless of why it happened i havta admit this whole thing about how the island seems to be a memorial in their memory is something else even worse is the fact that the name Raika island if you rearrange Raika you get Akira its kinda one of those really annoying nuances that ruins the series

I guess we can surmise now why the manga is called the Cage of Eden, if all other humans are dead then this group is essentially the first group of humans for the next era, Eden was where humans were first created according to the Bible so ... yeah.

And for anyone who thought there was going to be no supernatural/sci-fi twist somewhere in this series, *smacks them with a flounder*, okay, I am better now

*Why flounders, that fish meat is delicious, why not a puffer fish*

Yeah, your statement is correct. Looks like the title does hold meaning after all. Originally I get the Cage part, but where was the Eden. Looks like I got my answer.

Glad I read the last 15 chapters at once. There's like a crazy cliffhanger every chapter, and it would have wore on me.

I do hope this is a time travel story and not that everyone is dead, but at the same time I've been disappointed by so many endings lately that my expectations are pretty low anyway. I thought the car being a model that couldn't be recognized was a cool clue (meaning it was a future model).

The 20xx is just a convention used by lazy writers who don't want to tie down the date when the story takes place. This can be used when a story begins with a character entering school in 2006 and seven years later they are holding a graduation ceremony in 20xx. Or like some old science fiction story where a man drives his flying car to the local airport to catch his weekly shuttle fight to the moon colony in the far off year of 1985. In Star Trek, Khan's Eugenics War took place in the 1990's.

That's a crazy assumption.

Modern quarantine techniques should prevent a worldwide disaster......unless Zombies.

I worry if Sengoku's mom survived though. Looks like she was the supervisor.

For those who are asking if it's because of ranking and sales, Cage of Eden is one of the best selling series in the magazine and always stays high in the TOC.

So no, if it's ending is precisely because this is the end. And I knew that when it was hinted that the last pillar would be the place where they would find all the truth.

Also, looking at how the previous work of the author ended (points at the post above mine), this conclusion is much easier to understand, indeed.

good for the Author and the editor.

The author for knowing when to quit

and the editor for letting author ending it on his terms and not when the story is a decaying pile of shit.

it is aim at bleach and other manga that should have been put down once they were past their prime. Mostly it is aim at Jump-Editors.

Sales of the series aren't that great to be honest last volume didn't even break into the top 20 manga chart and fell out of the top 50 the second week.

Still enough copies sold for the series to stay.

Did they ever explain who Hades was and why he can just survive by himself with no help?

No. And that's only one of the loose ends the manga will be leaving. Another is whether Zaji is alive or not.

Actually, I don't think so. I just read the chapter, and could someone please tell me where does it say the series is ending? Because the only thing I read is "Only three more chapters to the conclusion", but the conclusion of what.

I'm getting fucking Claymore vibes there. And if I'm right, these next 3 chapters will be focused solely on how the whole thing happened.
