I agree with Coorie: the sound effects the Parabellum broadcasted were pretty funny. Contrary to what I thought last week, it looks like Ironbeard will not be an enemy, he will in fact be a very powerful ally if Marika manages to rally him. I wonder if he heard the Chef's message too? He's a pirate from the Galactic empire, so I'm not sure he was part of the old pirate council.
Coach has apparently replaced Kane on the Bentenmaru. The woman with eyepatch whose name I forgot noticed something was off with him (too happy and his hair stood up). If he's here, then where is Kane? What the hell have those two been doing these past few episodes? I'm in heaven every time Chiaki blushes. The pouting makes it even better <3 I loved her tsukkomis to Marika and Gruier's antics. She was completely overwhelmed by them once again

OK, I'm now completely relieved after my nerves about last week. Sufficient background has been provided, the "guy standing in space" thing stopped being ridiculous and started being a hoot (loved how they streamed the noise of explosions to time with their weapons fire.
)....I'm intrigued about how all these worlds supposedly belong to the Galactic Empire and yet they have really no clue about how their overlords function. I'd have thought that in the high-tech future information exchange would be much more ubiquitous than that (On the other hand, it makes Misa's "As You Know" lecture about the history of the Sea of the Morningstar rebellion make more sense, 'cause...apparently people genuinely don't know...). The "legendary master chef" kind of made me facepalm a few times (thank God the first explanation we got of him was mostly just Gruier being silly). I'm weirdly depressed that there were no deaths in the hunter attack at all, though. That was softpedaling things too much. (Chiaki...you're a pirate, for Heaven's sake...you should not be all class-conscious and upset at a princess serving tea!)

I loved this episode and Chiaki-chan who was blushing too cute, and for hollogramme it's a great effect I'd like to see her as Marika.
For this mysterious woman, me too when I saw those eyes I thought it was not really human, or so it was an effect in the preview because it's eyes are "normal" Anyway I'm anxious to know who she really is... Ho and one more note in this episode that I loved more than to re-see Chiaki ............................. .......... RIRIKA-SAN!!!!!!!! KYAAAAAAAAAAAAA too sexy in her swimsuit Spoiler for image:

Interesting note on Parabellum: it's a Latin phrase that means "Prepare for War". It's the end part of a famous quote: Sic vis pacem, para bellum. "If you want peace, prepare for war."
Appropriate name for a battleship. Impression I've got of Ironbeard is that he seems to be some sort of semi-deniable troubleshooter, given that he's got the independence of a privateer and firepower of a major fleet capital ship. Possibly he may even be Marika's dad? I've always thought that Gonzaemon's death was rather iffy. ...y'know, hearing Ironbeard's voice, I keep expecting him to make bodacious declarations of swords that cleave evil. Edit: I just realised. In-universe, Marika and Grueir are playing a drinking game, taking a drink every time Chiaki-chan says "The legendary chef." I really liked seeing an entire fleet of Bentenmaru class ships, each with their own captain holo-projected.
Chiaki, my Dark Queen, how many times are you going to let yourself be Gruier-blocked? Also, Misa knows something about the Parabellum and its captain. Endless "Sherbet" Soul

Now I begin to see why Ironbeard resembles Stark. Showiness, and even has Iron in his name.

now just realized that the Grand Cross with its 'face' revealed looks like something out of Gurren Lagann, & during one of the legendary chef flashbacks with the pirate fleet & its hologramed captains, is it possible that one of them is actually Marika's dad? i mean one of them looked like he had the same hair as her..... & real men use pimped out holograms of themselves & sound effects during battles.....

I certainly did.
*spittakes as eureka hits* Remember what I said about Doolittle employing a pirate captain? The Law of Conservation of Characters states that said captain is STONE. Not only that, he's also used to commanding a combat littoral (CL) fleet (he had 2 CL escorts and 2 deep space fighters, of which the 2 CL ships survived). Perfect for protecting Fairy Jane convoys when not pirating!! I'm calling this for when Stone and Jenny return in the season finale. ![]() ![]()

So according to Characters Profile in the ED sequence, Coorie is a bijo '美女' beautiful woman
(approved by Misa) ![]() This is based on February 19th file though. I haven't look if there is an updated version by 2ch.

...Meister Babylon, I have no idea whether you're using some other nation's terminology, or making up your own, but CL is the hull code for Light Cruiser, as laid down by the London Naval Treaty.
The various smaller ships escorting Big Catch were armed merchantmen similar to Lightning 11, incidentally. Also, do note that in prior episodes, Misa mentioned that the cutoff point for a pirate ship to maintain the Letter of Marque was that they had to be junyokan - cruiser-class - or better, and that Bentenmaru was near the cutoff point. That said I'll need to rewatch and figure out whether they mentioned kei-junyokan (light cruiser, CL) or itto-junyokan (heavy cruiser, CA) specifically. A combat vessel intended to operate in littoral waters would range from a patrol boat at the low end, to a corvette at the medium end, with a frigate being the highest displacement you could have (it should be noted that many navies in littoral waters, particularly the Swedes and Norwegians, use a lot of corvettes with the occasional frigate). Not a light or heavy cruiser, which, as the name suggests, is intended for long range cruising on the open seas. ...seriously, Kha, I hope for your patients' sake that you don't mix up your terminology and methods. Wouldn't want you to prescribe methadone for a baby with jaundice, or panadol for a malaria patient, or a cast for a sprained ankle.

Since pirates use cruisers, I cross-applied the term from there. Too bad it wasn't accurate. It's not some heinous crime anyway, not like my day job. And why I still keep my day job. Now, as I was trying to say, a captain in a cruiser supported by lighter class ships would be experienced in handling fleet actions, and so would be better at working with and protecting the large star cruisers shipping companies typically use.
