There's no such thing as overdoing it in Saki. The more flares the better. However I do agree with the smile part. Most of Poker face Saki was left out the manga.

Here's a link to a blog of chapter 53. (Not much in the way of images.) You can already tell that the manga is taking a different approach to the aftermath of the final round from the anime. lol Ikeda.

More blogs of chapter 53, with more images from it. The commentary so far is that the manga does a much better job of wrapping things up than the anime did. (Not a huge surprise.)
This one has the most interesting images: http://blog.goo.ne.jp/katsu666/e/30a...4a1227f107740b This one shows the difference in Coach Kubo's reactions. Funny Stuff. http://sazanami.net/20090821-saki-ikedaaa/ And this one challenges Ikeda's assertion that she had fun. (How did she have fun? o_O) http://beatarai.blog90.fc2.com/blog-entry-1504.html One more, because I can. http://blog.goo.ne.jp/occult00112233...51dc5ff1bff0d2 |

ep 54&55....
well, what can I say. The mangaka is sure going at her pace. ![]() The scene with Kana and the Coach got a lot more emotional though through sheer art force. Nice job with the art in that scene.

They can always pose for pictures when she returns from the bathroom, but whatever. I guess it will be still one or two months till we see where the manga is headed.

I hope, if the manga does the individuals too, the results will be different. I'm glad Mihoko won, but I don't think we needed to see Saki and Nodoka win again. They are already in the nationals; so, I think it'd be much more interesting if we see other characters (i.e. non-Kyosumi) in the individuals.

I doubt the manga will go through the individual tournament, but who knows. In any case, the problem if the manga decides to go its own way is that it will create some discontinuity that may later cause some problems. I for one hope they just move to the next thing...

Is the next chapter going to be released someday? does anyone has news on whether we can expect a new chapter before the end of the world in 2012?
