^ Not everything they think is crazy persay. There are people living in North America (U.S. and Canada) that think about what capitalism has done and look at the dislocation between persons and the additional focus on consumerism and wealth and see it as a bad thing. They and I will always fundamentally disagree, but that disagreement is based on a completely different set of fundamental morals and values.

/comments about American economic imperialism, proxy wars, etc.

Nope, Northern Korea did nothing.
That and "the PRC owes its existence to the DPRK" are two different things. Perhaps the DPRK helped out (which is interesting, never heard of it before), but it was the Soviets who took Manchuria, turned it into a safe haven for the CCP, and thus provided most of the support to the PRC.

Well let's see if they go through with a missile test and if the Japanese and/or Americans decide to shoot it down.

I posted this days ago in the Laugh A Day thread, but it still seems quite relevant in light of this news.

The following is a reddit linked to the above reddit.

I'd say this is a parody gold of Civilization V.

Analysis: In bitter irony for China, North Korea furthers U.S. strategic goals
http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/...93903U20130410
Quote:
In a boon for U.S. policy that can only add to China's frustration with Kim, North Korean bellicosity has helped reinforce an American strategy of rebalancing its security policies toward the Asia-Pacific region.

To a China that often sounds more wary of Washington than of Pyongyang, months of North Korean missile and nuclear tests followed by a daily stream of bloodthirsty war threats may be worrisome, but the U.S. reaction is even more troubling.

So... since it's almost the end of the 10th of April, anything happen on the Korean peninsular yet? (nothing's being reported in the news...)

I just realized that since some anime production was outsourced to Korea, might we see a delay in anime airing if anything happens there?

10th of April is almost over in Asia and yet nothing happen. I'm starting to doubt that our great young leader chickened out in the last minute. I was actually a bit excited waiting for something to happen -.-

Maybe Un took The Daily Show's advice, and just told his people he won?

Japan would be less affected than other countries nearby. Just because there is no mechanism for them to go code red. They do self defence, and would shoot down any missile that might be a threat. But it would be America for doing any kind of attacking.

After all, the Okinawa base is there for a reason.

Is that supposed to be good or bad? And how?

They don't have a budget for attacking anybody. The US government took the responsibility to do it for them. This means Japan can go on relatively normal lives unless Americans actually lose the fight, and that any missile strikes are taken down.

Good or bad? Depends. But my point is that life would go on in Japan because there isn't much they could do militarily, so there is no point stressing over it. Thus anime would air as per normal.

Good grief all this talk and threats about a war and the only thing you're concerned about is whether or not your favourite anime show will air?

As Gundam 00 points out, we can only worry about what we can control. At the moment people who are well trained and paid well are taking care of this, the rest of us just get on with our lives. And the Japanese even more so, as they can't even fight outside their boarders.

50 seconds in...that officer points that handgun right into the mic guys face with his finger on the trigger...hopefully the clicking is from the weapons in the backround, and not the piece being shoved in this guys face.

These are supposed to be highly disciplined super commandos?

To quote John "Soap" MacTavish: "HEEEEY! CHECK YOUR FIRE!"

Anyway, that officer is a retard.

I'd prefer quoting Gunny Haney myself.
