One thing which they seem to have introduced in this series is the spoken sound effects. They've really grown on me.

Long time fan in despair here.

Ioono, I guess I am a little jaded by the show, seems like it's loosin something.Like some of the mojo is gone.

It just seems kinda phoned in so far, the characters just appear and then prattle off on their "japanese social commentary jokes", they don't feel like characters any more, just vehicles for gags.

Any body get the same vibe?

Social commentary was what the series was about from the beginning, and its gags are its life. The characters are doing exactly what they were intended to be doing.

Actually... yeah same here. It just seems real perfunctory this round. The series has always had an uncomfortable tension between the ego of Shinbo and the author Koji but I'm hardly feeling a whiff of Koji under the pile of Shinbo. The manga has a chapter sense of continuity... and the adaptation of the first season and most of the second season managed to convey that to an extent -- not much sense of that this time.

Lots of good *moments* in each episode though.... but its a bit more like marathoning Monty Python's old series -- at some points you just gotta fast forward because it's hit and miss comedy.

Sounds like it's just the combination of all the female voice actors available for each specific episode.

It always has been that way, even since the start. The series always has been upfront and honest about it, so no, it doesn't bother me.

Ok I'll give you that. Still there was a certain....i dunno texture to the series that has been smoothed out. The pace has quickened a bit too and the tempo is a little more monotonous.

Like the variety of gags is much less compared to the other series so far, it's like my reaction to Family Guy doing 75% cutaways. Every once in a while you may have something funny just cause it's so wierd. However, whereas Family Guy is doomed to referencing outdated 70s-80s junk, Sensei does it with REAL obscure japanese related gags which have I have had more and more trouble connecting with.

It's just that so far the variety and texture (flavor) aren't there so far. It can still suprise me, the previous series did with stuff like the Zetsubou Channel episodes and murder mystery spoof eps that were real unique and came at just the right time, so I'll give it a little longer.

Still I have a feeling most of Shaft's creative juices are flowing all over that adoption of a light novel by NIsio Isin.

i haven't watched the first episode, but i think the other seasons were good, but not as funny as the first season. i guess it has a lot to live up to or is it our expectations that need to be changed? i dunno... but i love the randomness, even though i have problems getting some or all of the references..

She has what we call a husky voice, its usually sounds a bit more smooth and mature than other types. Its one of the reasons why I love her

S3, has alot to live to. 1 and 2 were good series, and 2.5 was visually amazing for the most part (OPs!) 3 has to live up to, and it seems like they're changing it up quite a bit.

To some it may get boring, but I'm sure its something we'd rather have than not have.

This world that takes things for granted has put me in to despair~!
