I'm playing bass.
Well it all depends on how often you practice. I'm sure a couple times a day (they don't have to be long, around 10-20 minutes) would greatly help build skill. As for bass, the easiest song would have to be "Don't Say Lazy" with the exception of the solo/bridge part. Most importantly, if you are playing songs you don't want to play, it makes the experience of learning the bass less enjoyable.

To work on speed, I suggest practicing the motion of the strums at a slow tempo and slowly build up the tempo until you feel comfortable. Don't forget to keep it constant. You don't want an uneven beat. You can practice this anywhere, not just on the bass. For example, do a finger walking motion on a hard surface like a desk or a table. This will build finger strength. For the fret hand, do the same, but this can be harder especially when your starting out since your hands aren't used to pressing on the strings. I suggest you become familiar with the movements your hand should make, then bring it up to speed.

I hope that helped.

I'm quite impressed to see so many K-On fans .

I found this subboard via Google while searching K-On stuff. Therefore I thought I should do a favor in return and started to become a active member.

Here it is:

K-On Band Score
- Go! Go! Maniac
- Listen!!

Well, I'm a beginner with guitar as well. It took me a good 6 months before I was able to play any K-ON songs with any decency (self taught).

Don't get frustrated if it's taking a while x)

Are you the same as the LightMusicBand in Youtube??

Another remix I made but this time I covered for the remix. It's a remix of K-ON's 3 ED songs. It's not yet perfect yet...as the title says it's in BETA

@rehkid
Before that official tab came, I already posted my own cover and found that there are differences esp. the solo...but still I'll prefer my version XD

Anybody doing the new songs now? U&I seems very easy.

Damn these K-ON songs, new songs keep on coming and I like to learn (and maybe do a cover) almost all of them

There's no better way to strengthen it than to actually use it. Yeah, it's gonna be slow at first and it might cramp a lot, but use it anyways.

Although that's written for guitars, it's pretty much the same concept. Go do that exercise everyday and your pinky will start flourishing!

Edit:
By the way, anybody who's thinking of getting this guy's tabs.

Be aware that he mistaken (or maybe he couldnt decypher, so made up) some bass parts for guitar... Or maybe my ear just sucks lol.

Me and My Friend Edited the song alittle bit more, feel free to edit it alittle bit more if you want

when you're not by my side I can't do anything on my own
I want to eat all the meals you make for me

if you came home right at this moment with a smile on your face
I would hug you tight

when you're not here, I can't apologize
I want to hear your voice no matter where I go
if I always see you smiling back at me
that's all I'll ever need to live happily

just being here, by my side, you do so much for me
you always give me the courage to go on
so please stay with me,
til the end of time
and understand all of these feelings in my heart

every day, sunny days, even rainy days
you were always with me, giving me your love
when I close my eyes
I see your smile
it shines on through the dark

yup, i am the same person. ok, will check that out. you did a pretty good job of it. Great!! but there are some parts that i keep getting confused on with, when the 3 mix together in certain parts , it gets kinda chaotic. but, i like your mix of don't say lazy rhythm with vox of no thank you. that was my favorite part
