I haven't got the time to find some info or even trying to choose which summer show that gonna be on my "must-watch" list. However just from a quick look, they have a nice selection going on.

CANAAN, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 and Umineko are the ones that interest me so much... at least for now =D

Spice and Wolf 2 are just way too over-rated for me imo. While there also some interesting titles like Bakemonogatari, Needless and GA: Geijitsuka Art Design Class. Then again, it's just too soon for me to decide based from what i've seen so far...

Will Watch:
1. Umineko no Naku Koro ni - Because the game is made of brilliant mindfucking awesome win.
2. Spice and Wolf II - Because Horo is likewise made of brilliant awesome epic win.

Will try first for a few episodes:
1. Sora no Manimani - Well I need my slife of life fix somewhere, and shows with a boring-sounding premise can turn out to be awesome.
2. Aoi Hana - Sounds like a really heartwarming tale. Hope it doesn't disappoint.
3. Umi Monogatari - Feels like it's going to be dark, brooding and oppressive. Might be worth it.

Will try the first episode first:
1. Zan Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei - I don't know, the first series felt great, the second felt flat and repetitive...
2. Taishou Yakyuu Musume - Considering Cross Game is all the baseball I need and feeling a bit let down by K-On!, I might have to just try it a little.

Will not even touch with a 10-foot long pole:
1. Hetalia Axis Powers - No... just no...
2. Princess Lover! - Looks like another harem jiggle-fest. No thanks.

I think I'll try out

Sora no Manimani: I guess there are some cliched elements, but the image and description seem like they have potential to be one of those low-key brilliant series.

Aoi Hana: It's J.C. Staff so I guess I will give it a try.

Tokyo Magnitude: Sounds interesting....maybe give it a one episode shot.

CANAAN: I don't really like these kind of shows but I'll give it a shot just because it interests be a tad bit more than usual.

Taishou Yakyuu.....again, J.C.Staff, give it a try.

I'm always up for something new but...where did all the heavy hitters go? There is a definite lack of 'that is a must watch' in Spring and now Summer. Feel I'm kind of stuck waiting for the new Darker than Black, Shakugan no Shana, and when they eventually get through the older episodes, more Haruhi...

I can't wait!!!
I do hope that Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei will be as awesome as I suspect it to be. If not... I'll be in despair!
APH is fine too.
As for Spice and Wolf 2 - I'll give it a try, but I found the anime a bit boring. I had to watch it along with a fun comedy in order to keep the balance.

Looking at the previews, there is such an overload of high school girls that I want to be sick; I don't care about high school anymore, and teenage girls with large breasts and their childhood friends and magic powers; no thanks... Please more college age, intellegent anime like Eden of The East and Honey & Clover, or highly creative anime like EF.

I'll look in at Bakemonogatari definitely, maybe I'll look at the first ep of Tokyo Magnitude, but I doubt I'll watch it, and will probably just be waiting for the rest of the episodes of Genji.

I don't feel like commenting on every show as my answer will often boil down to "I'll try out an episode or two" or alternatively "I'll see what other says about it first".

Heck in the case of some shows, I might save the series for after its over. I'm thinking of doing that in the case of Umineko no Naku Kori ni.

In any case, limiting to just seven shows. The main ones I'm interested in are the following ones.

Spice and Wolf II
Aoi Hana
Sora no Manimani
Yoku Wakura Gendai Mahou
Umi Monogatari
Kanamemo
GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class

If I had to narrow it down to just one series, my most anticipated would be GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class.

Really not much I'm looking forward to this summer.

Shows I'll be watching for sure:

Spice and Wolf II: I loved the first season so its a no brainer to watch the second.
Haruhi: Any new episodes that come out I'll definitely watch.

Shows I might Watch:

Umineko no Naku Koro ni: It's peaked my curiosity enough to consider watching it, although I'm still unsure at this point if I will.

Not much, but I'm honestly not surprised as 2009 has been a dissapointing year for me anime wise. 2008 wasn't to great for me either. I've probably only watched five series all the way through the past 2 years.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: New Episodes - While I am not a fan of Haruhi, the comedy of this makes me laugh sometimes so I will watch this

CANAAN - after reading the short description and watching the trailer, I got a feeling that this might be an interesting show

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 - BONES is making this so I will ceartanly give it a try

When the Seagulls Cry (Umineko no Naku Koro ni) - I like mystery/detective stories so I hope I will like this

For more info, check this post on NF forums.

Yeah, so I watched the trailer and read the prologue plus the first chapter...I'll give it a shot, but what's so big about it?

I usually pick something to watch, so it'll probably be Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 or CANAAN, or maybe the chapters I can find for Umineko will show me whatever I missed.

There are some scanlations of the Manga of Umineko up and about, but I personally don't think they really have the intensity that the games have.

Ah, so it's based off a game. I'll have to look into that, thanks

The lack of Horo love in this thread depresses me.

It is indeed truly disappointing that not many of the upcoming shows seems promising.
Spoiler for saving some space, early analysis etc:
