I vote for a ranger/stalker sort of range class. Bow & dual wielding + traps like what assassin has. Having a pet would be nice too though i'm not sure if they want another pet class.

Sorta like a hunter in WoW.
No catgirls? Damn!

If you want trap wielding I would rather you play Aion as a Ranger. In D2 the trap skill set is so lame and useless that rarely do I see someone playing a trap Assassin for fun.

Maybe they will introduce both a Ranger and healing-support class. It would be fun to have a support class that has many stack buffs available to make it at potent solo class at high levels.

P.S Maybe I should join the modding community. Making the female witch doctor being able to summon killer bunnies, kemonomimis and many other cute-looking-yet-ferocious-animals may help increase players around the world.

Most of all, you have to be disciplined and you have to save, even if you hate our current financial system. Because if you don't save, then you're guaranteed to end up with nothing.

Hahaha catgirls, don't forget to add in some mahou shoujo into it.
Actually quite interested in Aion but don't really want to have another subscription game (on WoW still). More keen on GW2.

As for healing support.. i somewhat doubt Blizz would go heavy on it. Their design philosophy is to make every class soloable but still provides some support utility to group play. I would guess if they do provide support abilities, it's most likely in an active short duration spell form to discourage buffbottings.

Do it Want my killer bunnies.

Well well, Diablo is not Baldur's Gate. I like BG a lot, but I am fine with humans only

I really hope the map will be big btw. Will we be able to travel freely around the world? Or will it be cut in different chapters?

i wonder if Blizz is gonna announce the new class in a awesome way. altho its obviously gonna be a range class (non casting)

i plan on making a Monk only... i got sick of all the other classes in D2 except Paladin and necro.

Well I would say that it is bad to play a class that does not suit your character. It is very evident in teamplay when your true playstyle comes out in unexpected circumstances (I have played enough MMOs to see this coming. There is always a healer who runs in and hits the boss instead of healing the tanks).

I am more of a support or solo type of player. A few examples would be :

1. First character I use in D2 is Paladin. It is rather strong for a support class, and with the right weapon (just weapon only) it is an excellent solo class.

2. My loadout for the majority of Far Cry 2 is a sniper, M79 and SAW. I never used a single rifle other than the default G3 at the start, which I totally stopped using as soon as I got a PKM. I prefer to pick out my enemies with my sniper, and if they get too close, I rain metal down on them using the SAW. I prefer surprise from unknown rather than shock-and-awe.

3. In DOTA I totally suck at farming or killing heroes. I usually do kill assists or support fire.

4. I always choose a range class in an RPG and put alot of effort into PvE (AOE and DD skills) rather than PvP skills. I find PvP boring.

And in shooting games, I totally suck at spray-and-pray, so I cannot go up front. I am more of those who fire in very precise bursts to the extent of getting killed because I don't get enough rounds into that nut fast enough.

The very basic type of judgment (VERY basic) would be the AESP spectrum. Achievers, Explorers, Socialisers and Player-Killers. Basically what I have read from a book of psychology states something like this :

Achiever
Always wants to be the best. Sees the game as a way of testing their limits. Known to hog training spots and killing very fast.

Explorer - that is me
Known to be the loners of the game. Speaks little, rarely party, but always venturing into areas. Often termed as stupid for wandering into higher level grounds at low levels.

Socialisers
Sees the game as an avenue for making friends. Total opposite of the explorer, always organising parties and expeditions. So-called natural leaders.

Player-Killers

Sees the game as a competition. Like the achiever, but set gauges not by skills, but by number of wins over other players. Their tendency to clash with Socialisers are often the main cause of large scale PvP events in servers.

Most of the people are Socialisers and PK-ers, mainly because socialisers make the world more interactive, and PK-ers exist to balance them out. Explorers and Achievers are similarly opposites of each other, when a world or map becomes too saturated, explorers find new places to train in rather than fight them.

I've seen something about this before, in how people generally tend to fall under certain general categories and does kinda hold true.
but for me I'm kinda abit of all "Jack of all trades, master of none" kinda thing

I love to socialise and party with people but also at times I just like to go it alone for some peace and quiet from the noobs.
Always like to get some of the best stuff, notably set items...they are a plague on my gaming life-__-
And PKing is always fun, no matter what anyone says

Just like with shooters, I'm one that will just do what I feel like at the time, be it sniper or run and gun.

I'm not one to fall under just one class and stick with it all the time altho I tend to lean towards casters most of the time but melee classes are always good fun to me at times.

I'd most likely try out all the classes here as I always do with every game I play but I think I'd probably spend most of my time as a wizard

Suppose if I tried to put myself under a category I might end up as an explorer. Unless some friends are asking me to work with them I'll just do my own thing.

Anyways for this one I'm thinking about wizard. Usually I just use the melee characters which is what happened in D2 (first barbarian then a shape shifting druid in the expansion). But that was mostly because my computer back then was too slow and magic just lagged the whole thing up . I might have considered a melee in this case, but the wizard right now is the only character that I've gotten interested in. Will probably depend on what the last class is, but for now I'm pretty certain of my plan.

I love the reason

Well, I think I'm a mix between PK and Explorer

Same here, Wizzard maybe Monk (if they have healing/support). As for the player category, I'll go with Bonta's "Jack of all trades, master of none" pretty much. I mostly play healer so that's what I am regardless of style.

I would like to believe this, but the only experience I've had with D2 PK-ers was an unfortunate TPPK camp, which convinced me that most PvPers are actually scumbags. You know, those guys who sneak into newbie grounds just to grief people, those who enjoy stealing and scamming often also the use of illegal mods, not to forget those who would rather spend three hours camping at a respawn spot than head for the goal.

Hopefully D3 will focus on the PvE element and forfeit PvP.

On this fan site for another MMO someone started a thread recently about "things to improve the game". Among the most "yes yes that one" category of suggestions was a filtering in pvp so you can select level etc; we can pretty much guess what that would be used for (there is a duel system in the game, this would be for points). So yes, unfortunately 90% of players out there care only for raising their own game-penis, rather then anything to do with sportsmanship/challenge.

That's the plan so far. I'm assuming they'll have items that give you permanent stats point with each level gained while the item is equip to allow for some stat point customization or something along that effect, well at least i hope they do.

Other games also have re-stats where your points magically float around from one stat to another more desirable one (but its still random). I think its good they are going this route, it makes the characters more unique, otherwise you just have: oh look he's 2stam/1eva tank, and there's a 3magic wizz etc (talk about everyone being a stereotype).

Personally, I prefer adding stats manually. That way I can make my own unique character, even it's kind stupid.

To get it unique you have to do it randomly, since well focusing on X and Y stat is nothing unique really, everyone does it.
So then if you have to do it randomly, why even have to do it at all? =P

And what about Armor/Weapons stats requirements ? How did it work ?
If you'll find a weapon which require 45 str and 20 int but you're a Tank so int doesn't up so much you'll have to wait 10 lv+ to equip this weapon huh?

When I mean unique, I mean in the way that not everyone thinks of before, not unique like "no one can make the same one".
