I wasn't too hot on it before, but I've really come to like the Treasure Hunt arc, especially Kumagawa and Akune, they're both doing wonderfully.

I am definitely liking how Akune is getting the spotlight in this arc, but a voice at the back of my mind is wondering where the heck Zen is right now. I mean, he's not even on the map. Did he go back to his classroom or something?

I'm pretty sure the author is just teasing us with Zenkichi's absence, lol because I don't think that they forgot about him...I think.....he'll probably be useful somehow in this arc....

I wanna see Kikaijima get some development!! There's been like hardly any since she's been introduced, it's like she's just...there.

The reason Zen wasn't on the map is because he hasn't even reached it right now. It was a map of the clock tower, after all.

As for Kikaijima, I'm actually surprised she's even managed to be this relevant. She's the "money and friendship" girl, so there's not much that she can offer in terms of intelligence or battle potential except for emphasizing the Student Council's growth or unity. Kinda almost like Zen, really.

To comment on the 'too perfect' opinions here, the point of Nishio isn't to 'praise' these characters so much as to show us perspectives or existences that are conceptually interesting. The characters are hardly perfect, they're simply exaggerated embodiments of various ideas. Akune for example was just used to explore the idea that "kindness" to those who are weak or depending on you is ultimately a stifler to their desire or ability to actually improve themselves. Akune, ever since his Destroyer days, has felt guilty about his ability, so he has renounced self-interest and ambition in favour of devoting himself to those less fortunate or more worthy than him. Essentially, his strength is looking back. The point that he realized, then, was that by refusing to fight for himself and look forwards not only was he stagnating his own strength, but he was also hindering the room for growth of the people below him.

As an 'idea' or a 'unique perspective', Zenkichi is almost completely uninteresting :P. It's nice that so many of you guys can relate to him but I'd say the point of Nishio's works might be to actually put yourself in the shoes of some of the more impressive characters.

I'm always thought Kumagawa is softened after joining Student Council.
After seeing this kind of expression, I'm fine with it even if it only comes when he's emotionally driven by his pervert mechanism.

What makes me impressed :

I'm always looking for a fast-paced battlefield in a battle manga.
And-- Akune vs Wanizuka come in a fast-paced battle.
It works very fast and not as slow as most of those previous battle.
Even when they're mostly used a brutal movement.

The results come in a funny way too,
Which one do you want, become my bride or my disciple ?

( Now. I'll be looking for their flashback moment.

)

The final trial will be consisting all of the following members.
And the next battlefield will be against Beautification Committee.

I have to admit, this series has actually managed to grow on me.

I hate the set up for EVERYTHING, but I'm totally fine with what's going on now.

More of Medaka's fine ass please~

lol at the omake/extra story. So like Kumagawa to give completely unhelpful advice like "just do your best", and so like Ajimu to give a contradictory response like "I was hoping I didn't have to".

I'm assuming this was the omake from Jump NEXT. So far it is easily my favorite one of the Medaka omake that have shown up so far. Everything is better with Ajimu and Kumagawa.

ever since the story's been 90% Kumagawa and Akune + new girls every chapter based the ratings have gone up.
No surprises, the author might just kill off Zen entirely, or make him a background character at the most D:
