I'm not saying you're wrong.
I'm just saying that you should wait before making statements like "all the tension is gone".
IIRC sixteen chapters into the last arc we were still in the Medatrials.

Sixteen chapters into last arc, Aijimu was an antagonist, we knew Medaka would "win" but we didn't know how since there was no real logical way for her to win that we knew of at that time. Even back then there was more tension than we have now.

This situations the exact opposite, there's no real logical way for the heroes to lose as well as there being no real logical way to beat Aijimu in a straight confrontation in which Medaka ironically lost in the last arc. Hence why there's practically zero tension in this arc. The only real way to bring it back would be for the heroes to actually permanently lose or at least for Medaka's plan to fail but even that would not neccesarily bring back the tension as it would just make prevalent how convulted this entire plan was as Aijimu a god-like existence was willing to help.

Which leads us back to the original issue of Aijimu.

Even before Ajimu, Medkaa basically filled that position by sheer virtue of being the 'main character' that Ajimu (and on some level Kumagawa) spoke of. Medaka used to annoy fans back when the manga started but Ajimu makes things worse with 10,000,000,000 skills and abilities. Any 'fight' Ajimu enters will end in a curb stomp battle but Medaka isn't really that much better. Medaka will not lose even when she does, she even beat the person who was stronger than she was.

I was referring to Ajimu although her past rivals did give her a fight before 'The End' kicked in.

As long as they have the troll twins (kumagawa, Relief attendant) They can do whatever they want. In the next conflict those 2 will be taken out first somehow, if the enemy has any chance of moving froward

Last couple of chapters have been my favorites of the arc. Definitely made the wait worthwhile.

Funny we managed to have an actual explanation for why certain Kurokami family members go overboard with 'love'. Its all hereditary lmao. Only Kujira seems to be exempt and I have to wonder if its the Momozono side of her blood counteracting that given how her cousin is acting in this Shiritori game.

Interesting that Medaka's mom was a Tsuburami family member and that makes Kamome her actual cousin as opposed to just a distant relative. Professor Tsuburami makes a lot more sense now as well. Dude has some amazing foresight to be able to set this up never mind how he came up with these language abilities.

Still can't get over Kajiki marrying all 7 suitors. Dude is awesome and no wonder I like his kids so much lol.

Looks like we found out who the murderer was, and it was the matchmaking council itself, which wasn't too surprising. However, it turned out this third wedding was all that one guy's plan for after he'd been killed was pretty surprising. Also, everybody being related was pretty unexpected. Loli suitor also manages to knock out the other two suitors by causing them to miss their turn, which is apparently part of Medaka's plan. Regardless, it seems like the next chapter we'll reach the end of this game, and the arc seems to concluding very soon. __________________ WORDS IN THE HEART CANNOT BE TAKEN If a corrupt court will not behead an evil king, than the watchman should do it himself.
