Enticing trailer, I'd admit. Has potential to be actually better then the first one. But we'll see.

Actually, it's pretty easy for the sequel to be better than the original: make the Indonesian dialogues less western-like & less cringe-worthy than the original .

Larger scope and more action are welcomed though .

Love the first raid and can't wait for the second one. The protagonist in the first raid movie is more badass than the the new Judge Dredd because he was trapped in a similar situation but without sophisticated weapons.

I can't believe this sequel gets so much ultra-hyped reviews.....from critics! Those people who usually tear a movie to shreds just for fun are actually hyping this movie after the Sundance screening! I think I've read all reviews of Raid 2 out there, and from all of them, I only found 1 mixed & 1 outright negative reviews. Wow, is it really that good? I have to see it myself.

Anyway, having a Yakuza-esque Japanese mob in the movie running half of Jakarta sounds quite funny. Jakarta is already full of local mobs & gangsters from different regions that I don't think there's any room for those Japanese .

My body is ready. That is all.

...that, and I'll need subtitles to actually understand what's going on, since not only is the Indonesian accent different from Malaysian, but it's a different language to boot.

As an Indonesian, I agree. While some words are the same or similar between Indonesian and Malaysian, I had quite the trouble trying to understand Malyasian language.

I know, right? It's like here, "banci penduduk" is a census of residents, but in Indon... well, the less said the better.

Arguably, non-Indonesian speakers don’t need subtitles to enjoy the first Raid film. But you’ll gonna need it for this sequel since it’s around 2 1/2 hours, and about half of the duration is used for heavy plot & dialogues (if critics who already saw it are to be believed). Without subs, you’ll be bored to death listening to people talking before the action kicks in.

I also heard that, in Malaysian, "celaka" is a vulgar word? While in Indonesian, it's just a casual expression describing terrible events or accidents.

...I read Raid, misread Indonesian as Indiana, and thought this was going to be an Indiana Jones martial arts movie.
