Congratz on the Kokushi; I've almost had one around three times on Tenhou, but I've never managed to actually win with it

I had Kokushi three times, once a 13 waits. And I even had a Pure Nine Gates once. Look back this thread, the screencap should still be there.

I'm aiming to have the complete the following hands: Nagashi mangan, 3 Kanzi/4 Kanzi. Not much luck yet.

I was one deal away from having a Nagashi mangan before, but someone else won before I managed to deal the last tile

Outside of the games we've been having I've had terrible luck...

I had 305pt and around R1700 at one point, but now I'm down to this.

I might just make a new account when I get to 500 games, unless I manage to somehow reverse these percentages.

Psht, I've played like 570 games.

Score somewhere between -0.50 and -0.60.

Highlight of the day was winning in a session where I was playing against two R1800+ (?!?!) players.

There are some days when the Kami-sama of Tenhou declares you are not worthy of winning.

http://tenhou.net/0/?log=2009101300g...54e9a616b&tw=0

Revel in my frustration and marvel at all the missed opportunities!

I missed out on a multi-dora hand and another hand that would've been a honitsu + ikkitsuukan (123456789 of the same suit)

Yo, yo, yo!

Took a break from playing (I'm usually too tired once I come home from work to want to play) but I guess it worked.

http://tenhou.net/0/?log=2009101903g...52413a6aa&tw=3
I won every hand.

In retrospect, I could've discarded a 7sou and replaced it with a 4sou in my last hand but hindsight is 20/20 blah blah blah blah...

I seem to hit a brick wall again.

Two scenarios always happen:

i) I riichi, someone else riichi, I play into him.
ii) I'm in tenpai, someone else riichi, the first tile I draw is his.

Not to mention my own draws have been really sucky. This really irritates the hell out of me. Tenhou really doesn't like me. Perhaps I should start moving on to other platforms.

I sometimes wonder if Tenhou does it on purpose just to fuck with us, lol

But it's weird how for all of us, we seemingly go through the same hot streaks and cold streaks.

I just want my average score to be a positive number again. I was so happy when I got my score to be a +0.04. I then went on a losing streak and I'm still in the negatives because of that.

Spoiler for a really wide image that would blow up the margins:

I can't figure out what the fan is for the last round of this game:
http://tenhou.net/0/?log=2009101917g...-3afee4ec&tw=0

2 All Triplets
2 One Suit and Honors
1 Red Dora
3 Dora
1 White Dragon

Me and my friend cannot figure out where the other 2 fan is.

Also, I'm confused about suu-ankou (4 concealed triplets). The mahjong scoring says this: "Four melds of tris or quads, all closed. Sextuple limit if the winning tile is part of the pair."

Online I had 3 concealed triplets and 2 pairs. I was on a two sided pair wait to complete my triplet. When I ronned off the guy, I didn't get yakuman. My friend says that I have to be waiting on the pair wait. I said that didn't make any sense since it says above that it's a Sextuple limit if the wait is a pair... Does tenhou recognize suu-ankou as yakuman? Here is the game (3rd scene): http://tenhou.net/0/?log=2009101918g...-10ccaba5&tw=2

The other two han are from a san anko. Three concealed melds. (closed meld of 2 of circles, closed meld of 5 of circles, closed meld/kan of white dragons)

Suu anko is kind of a tricky yakuman to get. If you are on a pair wait, you can either win on a tsumo or on a discard. However, if you are on a double wait waiting for you to complete the last meld, you have to win on a tsumo. The reason for this is that if you won on a discard the last meld would be an open one, thus breaking the 4 concealed melds condition.

San An Kou (three concealed melds) makes up the other 2 fan.

Current stats in Tenhou...I should be asleep but I had an itch to play this game tonight...

These stats have this game to thank:

That guy must be having something wrong with his head. Riichi, throwing a double dora when it was highly likely the opposite side is waiting for it? I never get that kind of opponents.

20 points more. Welcome to 3rd-Dan. (Btw, I'm already in 3rd-Dan with this pb883 acct.)

You must have a 1.000 winning percentage.

pb, here is the game where I won on the red 5pin. It happened in the very last round:

Ahh ok. So does that mean, winning on someone's discard opens part of your hand? I kinda don't understand this concept.

If you ronned off of me discarding a north (making a triplet), would you count the fu as an open end (4 fu) or a closed end (8 fu)?

So does ronning off someone's discard open your hand? Are there other examples (non-yakuman) that you could give me that would change the value of someone's hand by ron instead of tsumo?

Also, Suu-anko, under the description says, "Sextuple limit if the winning tile is part of the pair." Does that mean it is possible to get the regular quadruple yakuman limit?

And thanks a lot
