whitepearl, you shouldn't have discarded that 1-pin. It was pretty obvious. If you look at the records, I kept an East tile.

You even have the sad images prepared.

Guess so. Then again with my shimo cha declaring riichias well I guess there weren't many safe tiles anyway.

who hasn't entered the lobby?

Still, you were sitting East. I rather guard against you.

Too pissed/depressed/frustrated to go look at the tapes. Then again, I don't even bother looking at the records, despite the fact I keep a log of my games.

I have a bad habit (always have) of playing with blinders on...I get so fixated on trying to get out of a dry spell that I discard risky tiles easily.

I actually have a photo gallery of facepalm images.

And I knew that 6 sou was risky. It was either that or the 3, which you would've won anyway.

Y'all have me feeling like Osamu here...Ol' I suck at mahjong and let my sempais take all my money *^! (@&$@

Japanese mahjong rules encourage defensive play. If your hand is bad, especially towards the end, stop attacking.

It's highly likely the other players's hands are ready so play defensively and wait for your chance.

That's the lesson I learned.

Well, sometimes, inexplicable things happen.

But over hundred of games, that ought to be the way.

One moment I had prospectives of a comeback hand. The next I was in 4th place. Haha, the wonders of mahjong.

That last hand was good for a silent wait. But yeah, rewards go to those who are brave.
