Welcome to the Space Show (Uchū Show e Yōkoso)

My apologies if there's a topic for this somewhere, but I didn't see one and I thought it deserved it. I actually saw a trailer for it at a screening of Bungaku Shoujo in Ikebukuro last spring, and thought it looked interesting then. It's a great-looking film - really showing what A-1 Pictures can do with a decent budget. It's a children's film and by no means a perfect one, but there's a lot there to like.

I actually was very much looking forward to this movie ever since the announcement back in 2008 (still pro-lurking back in the days, and now ... NeoSam disappeared @__@), but the show got pushed back a lot. I guess that's why there's no topic for it.

Since no topic, I haven't got a chance to post this

Totally worth it just for the visuals, and the BR came out earlier this month.

Huh I thought I saw subs for the show floating around at nyaa. Don't know if it's legit so didn't give it a shot.

The only time I've ever heard about this one before now is on an ANNcast where they compared it to the Haruhi movie in terms of being far too long for it's own good. I get the impression this is one of those movies that works based on the viewers ability to get lost in the eye candy visuals which do look really good.

Yeah there are subs for this, it came out on DVD already I think.
It's a fantastic film. Whenever I think back I remember how much fun I had watching it. The visuals are stunning and the story itself is something like that from a Ghibli film I think.

I think I read that they got actual children to voice the main characters which is surprising because they really did a fantastic job. Plus the alien dog is voiced by Keiji Fujiwara (Maes Hughes from FMA) who is one of my favourite male VAs.

ever since i saw this previewed on Star Driver's commercial break i like it and it did not disappoint, the visuals are awesome, and ye the story is kinda shallow and the fight scenes are not intense enough because its intended for kids viewing but the visual quality is top notch!

this movie is a must see!

Awesome animation but the ending kinda boring for me
The final battle scene was kinda lame if u compare it with the first

Shouldn't this be moved to the older anime section now? Since it's finally subbed and all?
