Interesting; I was wondering who exactly Namco Tales abducted to help them animate their awesome OP videos.

as expected of IG, the animation is very high quality

i never played the game but the story is quite straight forward in the movie

until the captain mentioned it, i did not notice one of the twins is the "larger one"

I was wondering this myself. Are there any plans/announcements for further movies?

Looks like the movie creators played a bit too much Shadow of the Colossus when making this film. *laughs*

I saw the movie and I thought it was very enjoyable. Animation was top notch, the music was amazing as expected from a movie production (coming from the same guy who did Brotherhood music), and it made me want to see an anime about the game by the end of it. Also, I like how they made it a bit more realistic and gory than previous Tales anime. It fits my tastes. They should make more Tales movies instead of OVAs/TV series.

Personally, I wasn't that impressed with this movie. From a backstory standpoint, it was very good, but, if other high quality Tales adaptations are to be any comparison(this means ToP/S ovas, not ToE), the action wasn't that impressive. I wasn't expecting 1-on-1 battles or a small group of powerful villians(like ToL's Terrors, or TotA's GGs), but there were only a few moments were Yuri actually fought like "Yuri", and not some noob that just entered the knights.

Oh well, at least the Rita and Repede parts were funny.

The way the ED played it, it pretty much screams "BUY THE GAME." Production I.G. isn't one to do a full-fledged Tales series adaption after all, if Abyss and Symphonia is any indication.

The movie was good, though when comparing it with the game's presented backstory, Yuri's disgust with the Knights in the game really felt overplayed compared to the presentation in the movie itself. It's more of a self-realisation that being a knight doesn't suit him rather than despising the system itself.

Ahh, that was definitely worth the long wait. I like this one more than the OVA's that tend to get made, since this one has a clear start and finish and can easily be watched without having ever touched the game.

And though her appearance was only a few minutes, I loved Rita's part in the movie.

Oh i just watched this. I haven't played any of the Tales games, so I went in to this film as a newbie. A newbie with low expectations that is. The only other anime I've seen that also has a medieval fantasy setting are The Sacred Blacksmith and Tales of Symphonia, both of which were utterly dire.

Sure enough, this film was a pretty standard story but it was done well, and in the end I kinda liked it.

To be fair, the Tales of Symphonia game is infinitely better than the anime, which just cherry picks random events from the game and tries to make it seem like a coherent story (at least, for the initial Sylvarant arc).

But yeah, really wish this would go and get an anime adaptation. Don't intend on buying a 360.

I just wish they'd quit stalling and bring us that PS3 version already. We know they did the voice acting for it, so why the wait?
