Request: Mahou Shoujo (Recent)

Basically any recent magical girl anime that's been around.

Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica counts too (Corti is the one blasting enemies), and the only thing that I am focussing will solely be girls with immense power, that will do. I know it's quite off-track but I am broadening the topic itself in fear that there may well be too few "authentic" ones out this season.

Some examples as guideline:

Nanoha

Rosario to Vampire

Fate/Stay Night

Thanks

There is Shugo Chara which is currently airing. It's a pretty normal magical girl show and Amu is plenty powerful.

Fresh Pretty Cure is also airing. I haven't seen it but if the previous Pretty Cure series are anything to go by it'll be as authentic as they come.

Shugo Chara seems to be more popular with the periphery male demographic though. So it'll probably be more along the Nanoha lines you pointed out.

R+V and FSN aren't Mahou Shoujo by any means. But if all you're after is powerful girls, there's plenty in all sorts of series.

Solty Rei (super strong android girl)
Scrapped Princess (Dragoons and Peacemakers)
Elfen Lied (Lucy qualifies as having immense power, I think)
Tsubasa Chronicles (though you never see Sakura use her power herself, others use it all the time)
Card Captor Sakura (Obviously 'real' mahou shoujo, Sakura's true power)
xxxHolic (Yuuko is certainly powerful, highlighted best in the movie)
Bakuretsu Tenshi (Jo is powerful)
Gunslinger Girl, possibly (qualifies about as much as FSN >.>)

Eh, not even a third the way through my collection and I already give up, since I'm not sure you'd like (m)any of these. Redefine the request, perhaps. >.>

I don't know how to describe it, but perhaps all I really want is just overpowered girls

(Magical ones are preferred, though)

Yes, Lucy qualifies as one, pretty much all of what you've offered is what I want

@Ash Falls Town: I've got a glimpse of it and I was like, "MY GOD!".

Girl + big eyes + colored hair + magic.

Hahaha

@Saleh: The list is great, but not so for recency. Anyway thanks (:

*EDIT*

Shugo Chara seems too young for me, haha.

It gives off a different vibe even though the main character is of similar age as compared to Nanoha Season 1, and Shugo Chara feels really much better inclined with children i.m.o.

Eggs.. And guardian.. I don't know if there will be guardians hatching out from those eggs but I find this very funny, haha.

So, can someone tell me if it's worth continuing Shugo Chara? (In terms of maturity)

I think Fresh Pretty Cure might be more to your liking.

Interestingly this article (sankaku; nsfw) shows the actual demographics to be:
4-12 yo girls
16-35 yo guys

(I'm sure the creators are keenly aware of that, especially with its more mature design and setting than the original precures)

Haha.

It basically means: An anime with a storyline for young kids and animation that is more for the older ones

But yeah, Precure is still too young for me in that sense.

Gunslinger Girl is a pretty good one, and it'd be better if I can get more of similar ones
