Opposite from the norm(Romance)

Seen plenty of "loser girl gets the prince" type anime. Looking for one where a lower status type of guy gets the more popular/high class girl.

Please NO harem anime.

Yoake Mae Yori Ruri Iro Na: "The moon and the earth are linked by a single contact point, "Mitsuru ga Sakichau Ouren Rakuniushi" where Tatsuya lives under the supervision of the Sphere Kingdom (Moon Kingdom)'s Princess Feena Fam Earthlight who is coming to stay at his home. (Source: ANN)"

Zero no Tsukaima: I think this counts, a noble summons a boy from another world who is considered lower class, romance ensues.

I'm having a hard time coming up with some, but I know there are a few more.

Heh... considering your avatar I assume you've seen Ah My Goddess

I suppose Maison Ikkoku could count in terms of "the more popular" girl

Usually loser girl get the guy are rare shoujo animes. Though a lot of loser guy gets the girl type anime are harem. Seconding Yoake Mae Yori Ruri Iro Na. Mamoru-kun ni Megami no Shukufuku wo!, Midori no Hibi and Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu are some series that involve rich girls falling head over heels in love with relatively loser guy (no harem).

The currently-airing Bakemonogatari features a "princess" character and a rather amorphous young man. Only three episodes are out, so it's hard to know where their relationship may be going.

Sawachika Eri's relationship to Harima Kenji in School Rumble has some of this vibe, but Harima's feelings are targeted in a different direction.

Itazura Na Kiss is the exact opposite of what you mentioned in the first post. Its also one of the best I've seen in the genre.

Maybe you should give Spice and Wolf a try.. its not completely a romance, but.. meh, its a really nice watch.

Hmm....Touch is an exceptional series about an overshadowed twin brother and a female friend (who everyone else pairs up with his more successful and adored brother). Highly reccomended, but don't read any plot descriptions (they usually spoil...).

Toradora comes to mind too. Actually most shounen romances have loser guys getting cool popular girls.
