When you read this chapter stop at one of those pages,

just stop and pay attention to detail and background, this is weekly manga but this chapter has almost Berserk amount of detail and quality.

I read this chapter quite fast and was almost dissapointed until I read it again with care and holy shit its pretty awesome, you can spend some time counting how many devil fruit users, how many fishmen and how many intresting inviduals there is (err pretty much everyone?).

I hope Oda slows down a bit, unless he got entire army of assistants he is working to death now

Not much of dialog but damn this chapter REEKS with badass attidute, when everyone is so awesome I dont want to miss a second of this battle.

I have to read this chapter couple times over, so much details that its very hard to notice everything.

Huge respects to Whitebeard, some of most powerful guys in OP are attacking him and he is just smiling and enjoying himself... 'Aokiji...you little rascal!'

I think I am becoming Whitebeard fan offically...

Looking at the full chapter now, I still have a hard time guessing what Marco's power is. Like I said in a previous post, it looks like he literally spun himself towards Kizaru's beam barrage to deflect it. But the fact that the marines comment on the blue flames suggest that he was the one who created them, after all. I guess I'll just stick with the theory that Marco's a "sparkman" for now.....

Oh, and did anyone else notice that one of the Whitebeard commanders looks a lot like Jean Bart from Sabaody (the pirate slave that Law rescued and took under his wing)? Maybe that's his brother or something, heh. I also wonder if the top hat and chain chomp guys are DF users, as well. If so, they probably got some whacked-out powers. Also, the more I look at him, the more I'm actually sorta starting to doubt that Onigumo's a Zoan. It looks more like those extra arms sprouting from his back are made from his hair, and we've actually seen a similar technique used by Kumadori in the Enies Lobby arc. So either Onigumo is a Zoan, or he's a master of Life Returns. But I'm still really hoping that he's a Zoan, since we're finally starting to see more of them in this storyline, like the dalmatian (who I'm pretty sure is NOT Garp) and walrus guy (I especially love the walrus ).

Also, I'm kinda hoping that the fact that Doflamingo asks Mihawk if he was actually going to attack Whitebeard means that we'll finally see him in action next chapter. So far, him and Hancock are the only Shichibukai whose fighting style we still know next to nothing about.......

Holy crap.

Whitebeard's crew are just out of this world (after Gold D.Roger disappeared^^) !

And i am fu***** glad to see Mihawk in action, also that his slash got blocked!

You can guess what this means.

Zorro will surpass Mihawk one day and can even cut diamond!

Whitebeard or that Diamond Guy .......... i hope it is gonna be with Whitebeard afterall.
I mean, he was messing around with Shanks anyways, so why not White Beard.....

But it is obvious that Mihawk is not at the level of Whitbeard.
(i guess he knows this himself, but just wants to find out how big the gap is)

But if would be kinda anticlimatic if he even can't beat that diamond guy.

I am finally going to see the max power of Mihawk.

Also: ODA IS THE KING!

One chapter One Piece feels so long cause there is so much content packed in it.

Still feeling the amazement of having read that chapter.

By the way, I find it kinda funny that Sengoku doesn't take the opportunity to behead Ace while everyone's busy fighting instead of just gawking at the whole spectacle. I know that Whitebeard will most likely throw another of his atmosphere-shattering punches at him anyway, but it wouldn't hurt to try, right?

It's also pretty awesome to see that the NW pirates even have a robot amongst their ranks! This makes me all the more hopeful that we'll be seeing some Pacifistas joining in on the fighting, as well (specifically zombie Pacifistas, as I've been saying all this time).......

Hm, ok 2nd post after my blood calmed down a bit XD.

Ok, That slash by Mihawk was obviously aimed at WB.
So this slash was just massive raw power.
To cut things like diamond / steel , you need to focus the attack and not using some raw slash.

But i do wonder, whether it was Mihawk's best shot or just an apetitizer.

Though i guess we won't see Mihawk's secret techniques, cause those are for the Zoro-fight^^

.
I think Sengoku and top marines are pretty confident that they can win this battle and annihilate all pirates at one go, might be arrogant but I think Vegapunk/Pacifistas and such might be wild card that allows marines to pull victory.

oooor they are just massively underestimating WB and his pirate fleet.

I predict that WG will get upper hand at some point and pirates are facing defeat when team-Luffy arrives and they pull something outrageous (and Buggy gets all credit!! )

i doubt that slash at WB was mihawk strongest attack but more likely an just an attack to measure or gauge WB's response to it in order to determine the difference in there strengths, Mihawk may also not go all out this war but do just enough to be considered to be doing his job as hes never seems to have been a WG dog.

im most interested in sengoku/akainu/aoikiji's actions next chapter as it seems to me theyre still battle capable though sengoku may not get involved due to him being the commander in general who needs to be in control of the battlefield - aoikiji may end up not turning up next ch using the recovery from devastating attack shonen convention rule but akainu has no excuses wich in turn makes me curious as to how he will be countered if at all.

still not certain what role bb will play and smoker and mags need to turn up and do something soon, the wb commanders look prty cool and strong and am curious to know how marco will fare vs kizaru and exactly what his abilities are.

Also wanted to say im actually glad now there are so many DF's, as DF + Haki >> DF or Haki.

im expecting the SH to meet up after or while the war is ending

@Prestige:

I think so too. The WG needs this win!

I mean they are constantly losing to a level where i ask whether the WG is really that strong or just being pretentious.

They just need to win this.

I guess Oda makes the WB-pirates shining now.....just that they get defeated afterwards.

i highly doubt that was mihawk's best slash. who uses their strongest slash as an opener move? it didn't even scratch diamond guy

I'm a little disappointed in this week's chapter, it went awfully fast for some reason. The action in it didn't really move me as well as the other chapters and they introduced a lot of new faces(again) which kinda is a waste of panels since Oda already did some introducing last week. Sure, we know there are a lot of fearsome guys in this war but it's boring if 4 pages are dedicated to striking poses with vice admirals, WB pirates and the shichibukai. Well, at least we get to see some DF powers of Jozu and Marco. And what's with all these spread pages?

I think that people are misunderstanding the meaning behind the "world's strongest slash" line. I'm pretty sure that it means that, as the world's strongest swordsman, just about any attack of Mihawk's can be considered the "world's strongest slash". It doesn't literally mean that he used his ultimate attack on Whitebeard. Again, he even says himself that he wanted to see how much he stacked up against the world's strongest man. His attack was just a test slash, in other words. He wanted to see how much damage he could deal out to Whitebeard, but his attack ended up being blocked by Jozu. Like I said earlier in the thread, if he were truly serious, he obviously would have used a much more focused attack, one that would most likely penetrate through Jozu's defense. But as it stands, Jozu only blocked an attack that was intended for Whitebeard and Whitebeard only........

Well it did because the story didn't really progress (I mean what happened in the 20 pages can be summed up in a couple of sentences; Aokiji freezes Tsunami and bay, war starts, Mihawk wants to test himself against WB and is blocked by Jozu and Marco stops Kizaru). However, this chapter does set the scene incredibly well, giving us several scenes of bad-assery and showing us a glimpse of power in the New World which I think a lot of readers (including me) have been craving for. I like how Oda portrays the war like its a real war i.e. not just a set of organized duels (like in Bleach), and we actually do see some of the fodder in action even if they are just in the background (like in pages 12-13). I guess this helps convey the scale of the war.

could be a Phoenix zoan ability
You know they would actually be fucking amazing.

In fact, after reading your post, I went over and re-read the chapter and Marco's scene kinda reminded me of how Fawke's blocked Voldemort's Death curse in his duel with Dumbledore in the fifth movie/book (Pardon my HP references).

I also noticed a Skull Man on page 8-9 that looks like the Brook's younger brother, and an Octopus/Squid Man on page 12-13 that looks like Davy Jones' younger brother .

(I have to say, I am impressed. Oda has come up with at least a 100 new character designs in just the past 50 chapters.)
