I liked the fact that Haruhi didn't resort to super deformity all the time.

Come to think of it, I'm looking forward to Tsuruya's infamous 'LOL-tan' scene in this arc.

(sigh) about the only moment that really stood out for me (and made me smile) was the few seconds back at the club room when all we see is Mikuru's twin-tailed head down on the table in utter moe-exhaustion.

She also gets a few points for her grit in shouting out the second commercial.

Something about the last two episodes just feels rushed. I suspect its the speed at which the VAs are having to read their lines.

One thing it is doing well is communicating just how stressful and exhausting it is to deal with "energetic Haruhi" on an ongoing basis. Mikuru is ragged nerves and even 'cheshire cat' Itsuki sounds strained.

Funny, the thing I liked the most about this episode were the two comercials, wich is curiously the thing we already saw in the very first episode of the first season.

haha, if that were the case Haruhi would have destroyed the world 10 times over for all the obsessing he does over Mikuru!

After about two or three months of hearing it, she could've realized that Kyon isn't going to actually do anything...

I think it' implied in one of the later novels that Haruhi's aware of the attention Kyon gives Mikuru, but she seems to consider it harmless after the "save the world" exploit he did in volume 1.

A sequel to ep.20 and it related to the first season of the series...
I think they put up details for the first season in the season...
I just noticed this after watching this episode when they want to make a movie that they show in ep.0...

And it's weird that Kyon and Kyon's sister who doesn't have full name in the series...

Kyon's unreliable as a narrator...he skimps on details like names when he doesn't care.

Wasn't the song she hummed in the anime. FAIL!

... Okay, so I'm only upset that I most likely won't be getting Haruhi humming the Rocky theme in the near future. I don't care.

I meant officially.

Anyway, I'm debating on how exactly I'm going to review this. I went through the trouble of writing out a play-by-play type, but it relies heavily on screenshots. Should I post that or go with the typical "blah blah, this was bad/good, blah blah, blah out of ten" thing I've been doing?

From a person who doesn't read the novels, this season of Haruhi has been a horrified re-cap gone wrong. The lack of new storyline is incredible. Just wow.

I think a re-run that offers new material and re-arranges the existing material goes above and beyond what most companies would do, but that's just me.

It has occurred to me that for somebody who hasn't read any of the novels, this season really is all re-hash except Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody, and Episode 9 (or one of Episodes 3 through 8, plus the last five minutes of 9, take your pick).

In an odd sort of way, I think that the lack of Vanishment (unless it comes up later of course) is actually worse for the non-novel readers than it is for the novel readers. At least novel readers can take some solace in seeing the entirety of Sighs come to life. For non-novel readers... it's just the making of Episode00. It really is.

Best episode of Haruhi since like episode 3. The story "The makings of the Legend of Mikuru" isn't particularly spectacular, but I do like how the music goes along with the scenes. "With your aim, you won't hit anyways" Ah, the dictator Haruhi. 8/10
