Anime with no serious story plot

Looking for an anime where the story doesnt seem all that important. Ex like Gintama, school rumble, Hayate no gotoku and detective conan. So basically an anime where you dont care about the story and just watching becuz its just fun too watch without getting bored. Nothing like code geass and death note where if i watch 1 episode i couldnt stop becuz the story was sooo good.

These are all fairly episodic comedies:

Muteki Kanban Musume
Great Teacher Onizuka
(a couple cliffhangers, but mostly not)
Excel Saga
Full Metal Panic Fumoffu
(Seasons 1 and 3 both have strong plots but season 2 has no plot)

Since you liked Conan, try Detective Academy Q.

Lastly, Card Captor Sakura is excellent and the episodes are fairly self-contained.

I assume you're kidding about CCS? The first season is completely episodic, and most of the remaining episodes were, too, except near the end of a season. And who can take Kero-chan seriously, talking about world catastrophes in a cutsey voice...

Consider Detective Conan and School Rumble, which the OP mentioned. Do GTO or CCS really have overarching plots much stronger than those? GTO basically is a bunch of very short arcs of 1 to 3 episodes, in my opinion. Most of the episodes in either series is fun to watch in isolation, and does not compel you to watch the next episode before you can go to sleep. They both have GOOD plots, just not the type that compel you to marathon them.

Ghost Hunt, by the way, is another one. It mostly consists of discrete 1 to 2 episode arcs.

...oh, and then there's The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, which even aired out-of-chronological-order because the episode order doesn't really matter much.

...and Pani Poni Dash, which really doesn't have a plot.

Lucky Star - pretty much the epitome of what you're asking for

Mushishi, Natsume Yuujinchou, Aria the Origination, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Fullmetal Panic? Fumoffu are all good episodic series. Do you dislike episodic animes with ecchi elements like Koihime Musou?

A few more:

Keroro Gunsou - Very long; comedy. Quite good... a bit like Gintama.
Otogi-Juushi Akazukin - Fantasy / Magical Girl; very cute
Super Gals - School comedy / drama
Sumomomo Momomo - Martial arts / comedy, a little like Hayate
Shugo Chara - Magical Girl
Final Approach - Romantic comedy
Yoshinaga-san'chi no Gargoyle - Comedy / Drama / Fantasy
Doujin Work - Comedy
Inukami - Romantic Comedy / Magic / Ecchi / Harem
He is my Master - Romantic Comedy
Midori no Hibi - Romantic Comedy

Currently airing, there's also Yoku Wakaru Gendai Mahou and Sora no Manimani, which are fairly episodic and plotless.

How about Minami-ke and Sketch Book? Both are very funny slice of life series without a lot of big plot carryover from episode to episode. M-K is more edgy and a bit ecchi, too, while the humor in SB is more of the wistful variety. Both excellent series, though, and Makoto/Mako-chan (M-K) and Kate (SB) may be the two funniest characters in anime over the last five years.

I would say:

- Jubei Chan (Season 1 and 2);
- Daa! Daa! Daa!;
- Chi`s Sweet Home (+ Season 2);
- Nodame Cantabile (Season 1 + 2);
- Kyou no Go no Ni (OVA + TV);
- Bamboo Blade;
- Sketchbook: full color`s;
- Potemayo;
- Ichigo Mashimaro (including OVA);
- Manabi Straight;
- Toki o Kakeru Shoujo; The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (Movie);
- Hachimitsu to Clover (Season 1 + 2);
- Kamichu!;
- He is my master (Kore ga Watashi no Goshujin-sama);
- Gakuen Alice;

Have fun!

I'll have to second Haruhi, Lucky Star, and Hyakko.

Also, a currently airing series, G.A. Geijutsuka Art Design Class fits your description nicely.

Minami ke has no overarching plot to speak of and except for the 2nd season Okawari is completely non serious. It's not quite as wacky as School Rumble or Gintama, but it's very funny in its own way.
