That may be true, but there are a few benfits here; the thread will be in use for years to come and will in time provide a more 'complete' statistic on the age distribution on AnimeSuki which may be interesting to some people.

For the last 5 "how old are you?" threads you don't know how many people who voted in one thread also opted to vote in the other threads.

But I'll leave the defending to the OP if a mod feels the same way.
