Adventure-Fantasy type anime

I'm looking for a good action-adventure, fantasy type anime where there are villages, towns that they travel through. I don't want anything longer than 80 episodes.

Thanks.

Well, it's not my absolute favorite but Claymore was the first one that came to mind for me.

Try any of the Tales of series. Or even better, play the games

The Sacred Blacksmith is one the new shows of the current season. Don't have a clue if it would involve traveling at any point, but it fits your Adventure-Fantasy genre request.

Also, Fairy Tale....though probably not as good as the Sacred Blacksmith.

Here some suggestions:

-Scrapped Princess: Really good anime in heroic fantasy world. There are aventure and fantasy.
-Juuni Kokki 12 kingdom: impressive world with very good characters
-Lodoss war, a classic
-Claymore, not bad
-Berserk, it's Dark fantasy

I'm surprised you didn't think of Serei no Moribito.

I third with the 'Tales' series. Tales of the Abyss TV series and Tales of Symphonia OVA's are a good rendition of their game counterparts.

I do need to change the record once in a while, you know! And while I do agree Moribito somewhat fits, I got the sense that the OP wanted something more focused on the medieval towns/villages, etc. And on that note, as I type that it reminds me that Spice & Wolf sort of fits the bill, too.

Guin Saga also fits the request, but I was disappointed in the series as it progressed. Guin was the most compelling character, yet he played a fairly small role after the series midpoint.

Spice and Wolf is an excellent fantasy/adventure anime, but I would not recommend it to the OP as he wanted action-adventure. Spice and Wolf is about the romance between the two main characters around a medieval merchanting plot with very little action. The second season has no action.

You might want to try Last Exile, great fantasy storyline. And if you're into steampunk you'll absolutely love it, if not you might still love it.
