Either it's incest or it's not. Here it's not, as they're completely unrelated by blood.

Yes, hitting on your step-sister is very convenient, as she's always around, so you really *should* be thinking of it
Freudian slip?

They're probably happy their kids get along so well. When parents are remarrying, the biggest problem generally is if the kids will get along with each other (or also with the new parent).

Yes, much less complicated than in the west.

It just started airing the 5th, then once a week. You do the math.

Right here you find the torrents for it from various groups:
http://www.animesuki.org/series.php/1607.html

I'd recommend Doki, which also offer MU links for the HD version on their homepage:

Will "pseudo-incest" work?

Also, for the curious:

The dancing in the ED is a rotoscoping of the music video by Yui Ogura and Kaori Ishihara.

Yeah, I'm gonna skip this one. I watched the first ep and it was good and all, but I am reading the manga and with my tight schedule, this is expendable.

like you don't know anyone who banged a cousin !
seriously, this is a MANGA, (or anime from now on..), if this was happening for real then maybe there would be a tiny (reeeealy small) chance i'd give a shit if they are "brothers"...
grow up already.
how can one not like two cute girls doing ecchi stuff?? (Twins man ! Twins ! Lol.)

~h8 virgins.

Are you guys serious? I mean really. Well let me tell you something. I come from an adopted family. My biological parents were abusive, both physically and emotionally. Luckily, I was fortunate enough to be adopted by people who knew my parents, and such I knew them. As such I learned a very important lesson after being adopted that family, is much thicker than blood. Blood means nothing, NOTHING. People who were my blood made my life a living hell. It took those who had no blood relation, who aren't even the same race, who doesn't look anything like me, to show me what family truly is.

With that said, it's comment like these, and attitudes like yours, which I completely despise. Often I had to deal with people who wouldn't accept or couldn't accept the fact that my sister was my sister. Just because I'm black with curly hair and she's blond with blue eyes, to some it just doesn't seem to compute. But I have news for you, family isn't about what's running in your veins. It's a bond, a bond that people share that are unbreakable, that cannot be separated. As such, to ignore the relationship that step, adopted, or others do share shows that it's you who need to grow up.

With that said, I agree with those that have a problem with this sort of exhibit. Just like how I can't think about anything romantic about my two sisters without hurling, the same applies here. And than people get mad when manga/anime is called incest, tentacle porn. Now of course that isn't the case, there are tons of manga-anime that eludes from the stereotype. But it doesn't change the ideal that this series, and others that show incest makes manga- anime look bad.

The incest debate again? They arent related by blood, and the side effects of inbreeding is why incest got to be looked at negatively to begin with. Some people would rather tell you whats right and wrong than tell you why its right or wrong.

But me? I dont care. Itd be more entertaining if they were blood related, but whatever. show is very funny(thats all that matters to me), and it is about to lure me into reading the manga. Riko is awesome lawlz.

And my thoughts on Keita are the same as his father's.

In the end it's about the characters in the situation. For whatever reason the 3 involved haven't built up the mental block of siblings = romantic impossibility. Keita is trying to use that as an excuse but very successfully, since it's clear he does have those kinds of feelings for them. Don't think people should get too serious about this. It's a story and in this case the people involved aren't bothered by what would probably bother us.

The debate may never end long as this series goes on. It was looked at as negative due to the biological issues. That turned into a social norm that was instilled into people. You grow up thinking that your family is family and they aren't romantic prospects. Whether you are blood related or adopted it's the mental part that matters.

I first watch this anime i thought "....man its almost like a hentai show..." But watching Keita trying not to be perv towards his sister is acutally preatty funny. Spiecally his parents trying to make him choice one. The fan serivce i can do without but i know its part of the anime but heck i find the anime funny enough to just deal with it.

I'm sure their parents would be overjoyed if Keita eventually picked both girls.

Oh boy, this show is little better than outright H-anime. Biggest danger to be dropped, and that's saying something as fake siblings are merely an extension of the osananajimi archetype.

Yes, I agree that parents should be happy when their kids are getting along, but it's not that simple. Any respectable parent would have a problem with the sisters making sexual advances at the "brother". Incest or not, it's Ideal to treat them as real sisters, attempting to maintain a real family setting. That's what normal or "typical" parents would do. But no, the dad pretty much tells keita to hop in bed with them. With the mother talking about them marrying each other. I'm sorry, but to me that isn't normal in any sense of the word.

Don't get me wrong, I like this show, but to say the parents shouldn't have a problem with what the sisters are doing is a bit much IMO.

Not really much better... "imagined incest", at best.

That's only true if brother and sister are related by blood.
If they're *not* related by blood and the parents still have a problem with it, that's just very narrow-minded and anything but respectable.

To be honest if I had a son and step daughters I would still think that them doing that would be incest. By marriage they are brother and sister. Its just gross.

But its really not supposed to be normal. Though what is normal varies from culture to culture. It would be easier for people with problems with this to suspend disbelief if they think the show is funny. It really really is irrelevant. I wont watch this then try to get me little sister in bed or something.

What counts as incest varies from country to country.

One would think that, even though they're not really his sisters, they still count as such because they're from one family now and that he should refrain from giving in to their demands. However, the emphasis they make in the show is that they're not blood-related, thereby negating the whole 'it's incest!' claim people make.

In biological sense, that last part is true. The only reason incest is taboo or even illegal in certain countries is because having offspring with your blood-related relatives means that your children will have a higher risk of deformities and genetic diseases (due to lack of genetic variation). Ako and Riko are only Keita's sister by name and share no blood relation to him. The fact that they know this (and are supported by pretty much every adult around) is why they do what they do.

Keita himself is wrestling with both views. While he sees them as his sisters, he does fantasize about them and the thought of having sex with them does turn him on, despite his best efforts to suppress those feelings. Of course, his two 'sisters' jumping on him in order to seduce him doesn't really help either. And they're not even the only girls who want to have sex with him (though not all are as assertive as his sisters are).

My opinion is the one they have in the show: no blood-relation, so it's perfectly fine.

Let's look from another perspective.
You, a guy, love this girl and both of you intend to marry in a year's time.
One month later, your father married the girl's mother.
You are now the girl's brother-in-law.
What will you do?

In that situation, IDK what I would do, but that is NOT the type of situation that's in Kiss X Sis. In Kiss X Sis, they have already held a brother/sisters type relationship for a long while, as evidenced by the first scene of the first episode. THAT right there is what bothers me. If it were a case of "The girl I like is now my sister!" then I wouldn't be bothered by it. But the anime already established that they've had a brother/sister relationship for a while.

Why do you make this distinction?

Why is it okay to fall in love with your sisters before they become so and not okay when it happens after that? In both cases, they're childhood friends that become family, in both cases you fall in love with them, it's just the time around which it happens that's different.

In regards to that music video link:

Haha it took me a second to figure out which is which in the music video, but you can see they are too stiff in the dancing. Looks like they didn't get enough practice before shooting.

I did like the whole school outfit thing.

It's just what I believe. I'm not criticizing or looking down on anybody's veiws am I? I hold the belief that when you're put into that situation, you become a family, related or not. Where I come from, dating within the family is wrong, related or not. This all boils down to cultural differences, I believe. I respect the opposing opinions, but I don't agree with them. Like I said before, I enjoy this anime, but to me it isn't too hard to understand the complaints this series gets.
