The Coming of the Third War

With the Core Worlds reestablished, a parley is called between President Tomoyo of the Clannad Republic and President Hinagiku of the HnG Combine (now in nominal control of the Grand Systems of the Joint Council of Stars). The topic was resettlement of the Outer Rim and Colonies.

A truce between the Alliance and the KyoAni Empire stands since the final battles between President Tomoyo and Grand Master Shana at the end of the Second Great Moe War. But the rift between the two dominate forces of the Galaxy still lingers. However resources in the Core are few and the Outer Rim and Colonies provide materials and space for any over populated worlds. But since the Outer Rim is dangerous, the two Presidents have openned a combined Galactic Act...34 Worlds will be colonized by those that can best develope the moe potential of the Colonies and Rim Worlds.

However, while the two Presidents are thinking of a more peaceful way to handle the colonization efforts, the Kugimiya Knights have sworn to defend the settlers from the Alliance just as the God Empress Haruhi has declared the Empire will expand in her glory. The colonization will not be all that peaceful it seems.

The Galactic Act though was open to anyone, not just the two factions that signed it. Therefore the call went out for Planets. And they came, the Gonzos, and the DEENs. the Hal and the Gainax. The Madhouses and the Shaft. In all, 126 colonial vessels set out representing some 60 nations. Even the Maidens of Rozen come out from hiding to venture forth. All heading into deep space.

But there are many dangers in deep space...many of these vessels will not make it to their destinations, much less start even a failed colony. Piracy, rivalry, and even nature itself will stand in their way.

Who will survive?

Spoiler for Flags of 60 'Nations':

Sounds like Macross colony ships to me...

And you know what? That works out just fine, since it affords us the chance to create the backgrounds for each "colony ship" and realize the story potential for the ones that do survive.

Actually I almost quoted Adama from the original "Battlestar Galactica" about when they gathered the remains of the 12 Colonies. Parodied I guess. Though Macross Colonies works too.

Heh. I was thinking along that line, but went with Macross first. (been rewatching M7)

Why not mix and match?

Considering how many other things are being mixed and matched...why not?

(But will the Spice flow...again?)

Thank you.

Question becomes...who of the nominees and pre-qualified can take on the top 16? For that matter can Yui, Azusa, Mihoko, Nodoka, and Ushio take on the Top 16? Judging by other nomination numbers...Yui and Azusa, yes they can take it. Mihoko and Nodoka...maybe. Ushio...depends on the miracle or not.

And what of the pre-double elimination 2009 Top 16 members that got bumped? Suigintou (5), Suiseiseki (13), Nanoha (14), Shinku (15), and Holo (16)? For perspective, let us see their final 2008 numbers (again pre-double elimination): Suigintou (13), Suiseiseki (30), Nanoha (10), Shinku (51)!, and Horo (19).

Hmmm. Suigintou, Nanoha, and Ho(r/l)o seems to have a relative following both years...Suiseiseki is still viable...but Shinku seems to be a variable from 2008 to 2009. However...she is the main character, and did well last year compared to 2008 where the Rozens struggled. (As oppose to 2009 where they nearly dominated until falling apart after the first round of double elimination). Where will the Rozen Federation land this time around? As a real power, a feeble single character (Gin-sama most likely), or not even in at all.

Also desu~

Just a general thought... there are lots of numbers being tossed around with no explanation of what they are... perhaps a little clarification of what they are will help many members who just gloss over those statistical posts to read them? Like I don't know what those above numbers stand for... what is the 51 after Shinku's name, for instance? Are they rankings? And did Gin drop out after being ranked 5?

I think a little clarification in what everyone's posts with vague numbers/stats actually are will make the tourney more all-inclusive and less elitist (like "too bad if you don't know what all these numbers mean; we do"), and so on...

I'm sure it's not just me who doesn't get all these numbers, but then I generally don't get them anyway; I just Vote

The numbers are their final standing for that particular year (from 1 being top and 64 being bottom) before the double elimination period.

In 2008 Shinku was ranked 51st overall as oppose to 15th in 2009. And yes Suigintou somehow bombed during double elinimation in 2009 and was beated out by Mikuru I suppose to get replaced by Best Moe and Saimoe finalists.

Well need to see if any of the newcomers have the loyalty Taiga inspired in the voters. I suspect there will be some since the likes of Clannad holds loyalty still with Tomoyo and Kyou, so there is a chance of some newcomers topling last years top 16 (including topping Nanoha, the Rozen Maidens, and Holo)

Spoiler for Test for voting:

Well Im pretty sure that at least Mio (pretty sure that she will pass prelims) and Azusa (<3) will make or at least come very close to top16. Other than that I guess that some of the Bakemono and maybe a Saki character have the potential of doing this. And maybeeee if the stars align we will someone from Umineko or Railgun in the top16.

As long as Mio makes the regular season, she will find a way into the final 16. Azusa right now is borderline final 16. Any more airtime and she will also make it in. Mikoto from Railgun right now also stands at a borderline top 16 if she gets in.

If loyality is the key, I see it happening with Seitokai no Ichizon. (2 guarantee top 16 with 1 maybe)

I see it as highly unlikely for Seitokai to make top 16.

Yui's more popular than Azusa, so if she doesn't make top 16, then neither will Azusa...Azusa is by far the most moe to me in the series, but *shrug* I want nothing to do with three K-on in top 16.

From ISML 2009

(3) Sakagami Tomoyo
(9) Hiragi Kagami
(12)Asahina Mikuru
(13)Suiseiseki
(15)Shinku
(16)Holo

Now that I think about it, looking at the 09 rankings, I don't see too many giving up their Top 16 ranking. 3 Movies are coming out which could either boost or keep the characters from that series steady. Out of 16 2009 representatives, only 6 I would think would have trouble keeping their spot in the Top 16. If that's the case, Seitokai no Ichizon, K-ON or any others will try and break in.
