On the other hand, we have another piece of information which is directly related to warrior type, and has been explicitly stated to be such for both warriors and awakened beings. If that one bit of knowledge you give was all we knew about either Priscilla or Deneve, I would tend to agree with you. It is not, however, and that anecdote is insufficient to overcome the fact that awakened Priscilla is better at regeneration than over-the-limit Deneve.

(Granted, I can think of a couple of possibilities that would explain Priscilla's abilities while still letting her be an offensive type. As it stands, though, Yagi has given no evidence that either is the case, and Occam's Razor implies that until he does it's more likely that my logic above is correct.)
I'm afraid the 2 cases I mentioned are almost all that matters in this case.
Ophelia (v7p71): "Once you become half human, half monster, do you think of protecting yourself in order to survive, or do you think of killing your opponent in order to survive... that's the difference."
So Priscilla killing the youma, is highly indicative of what she thought at the moment she became a Claymore (and hence became an offensive type).

As for Priscilla's regeneration, all indications are that all ABs can regenerate. Surely you don't think Duff is a defensive type? The fact that Priscilla is just ridiculously powerful means she can do it better than most - regardless of type.

But then again, we can't really just go by the principle of ockham's razor since this is fiction and we absolutely do not know anything about claymores. The author could just create, out of the void, a fundamental principle that we just never heard of, only to spice things up ŕ la umineko

Miata is an offensive or a defensive? All her actions suggest an offensive warrior, but her regenerative capabilities are enormous - most of defensive warriors needs a lots of time to regenerate lots limbs - she needed seconds do regenerate lost hands. IMHO warriors with really large yoki could easily regenerate even if they're offensive. Or in another words at some level difference between offensive and defensive warrior is more about their personality than their abilities.

Isley also showed excellent regenerate and I don't think anyone makes claims about him being defensive either. He was regenerated all the damage he took from Helen while in human form and began to regenerate his arm before the AF's put a stop to it before he could get far. If he could do that and we know that Priscilla is much much stronger than him then her regenerating skills don't seem far-fetched at all for an offensive type.

She reattached her hands not regenerated. We have yet to see an offensive type that didn't awaken that has been able to regenerate a body part. Ophelia claimed is was impossible to do as an offensive type so I tend to believe her that no matter how powerful the offensive type limb regenerate is impossible.

My little speculation:
I think Clare will get a new upgrade, when Priscilla starting to eat Helen or Denev or both of them. Psychological shock is main cause next Clare's upgrade.

Spoiler for New spoiler:

Spoiler for Online translations:

Can't understand much but I think it's fake, though, 'cause it seems to differ a lot from the two others previously posted.

Spoilers sound fake. Apparently Rubel arrives and instantly slashes Priscilla to pieces. Then Raki arrives and Rubel calls him the "prince of the dragons". Raki gets furious at seeing Priscilla dead and Clare almost dead and kills Rubel in an instant. Then he apparently sprouts wings and carries Clare to the main continent.

So...it's fake.

Still side with Cyclone on the issue

I cannot believe we still don't have the chapter yet. However...

It almost sounds like Rubel and Raki are the main characters in this one; Rubel being aware of their meeting and Raki being sent off; apparantely he has wings now.

Thanks to weils I have an idea of what's going on in it... Can't understand why someone would make such a stupid fake spoiler. The spoiler makes it sound like the entire story just ended at chapter 100. This had better be fake or the fans will rise up as one and slay Yagi.

Yagi wouldn't do this; it's not his style to pull stuff out of his rear like many writers.

And I'm sure a stupid twist like this isn't his "surprise".

I've been thinking; odds are, the surprise is just some artwork like newhope said.

My top five desires for the "surprise":
  1. Season 2
  2. Extra long chapter
  3. Extra chapter 5
  4. New databook... for the new generation, speculation on the ghost, entry on the AFs, The Destroyer, Raki, and Priscilla... if we're really lucky dragonskin (though that will never happen, Yagi won't spoil that surprise).
  5. Artwork

Just as long as by popping out you mean it being like mitosis. One moment it's just Clare, the next moment it's the twin goddesses with torn clothes.

Please no birthing Teresa... I don't want that kind of popping out.

  5. Artwork
1. Please, God, no.
2. Won't happen
3. Maybe
4. Too early, imo
5. Maybe

Regarding personality, I refer you to chapter 22, page 9.

As for regeneration, sure, all ABs can regenerate. Not all of them can do so instantaneously. Duff takes "so much time it's ridiculous," to quote Riful. Priscilla's regeneration capability is decidedly faster than that. And, as Helen notes, instantaneous regeneration is the purview of defensive types, even among ABs.

And Riful? she has lost her arm but regenerated it almost instantaneous after it was cut off.

You can argue the speed if you like, but she regenerated it incredibly quick, which shouldn't be possible if she is offensive. Time isn't an issue, because the time between chapters for the last while, has only been a few minutes.

Unless you believe she's a defensive type....and considering her sheer ruthlessness, I'm gonna have trouble believing that.

As for Priscilla, that one moment really isn't big enough, especially considering her actions shortly after. A simple comparison is Claire; who was shook up and cried when Ophelia was about to kill her. Another was Deneve during the fight against Rigardo.

A brief moment of fear doesn't mean you're a defensive type.

That's certainly not what Helen says.

Helen- You used to be an offensive type right? Does that mean even if you awaken you don't just suddenly become good at instant regeneration?

We see Isley before his death regenerate fairly quickly but comparing Duff regeneration to Priscilla? Isn't that similar to comparing someone like Clarice to Miata? It doesn't really mean much when we can clearly see a huge difference. He was a 3 and 1 are far above 2's and Priscilla is far above above 1's.

The thing I think Aimless is confused about, is the fact her regeneration seems instanteous. The fact is however, is that this regeneration speed is unique to her. NOBODY regenerates as fast as her, not even the Abyssals, and that's why he thinks Priscilla is defensive.

But that's wrong though, because the speed of the Abyssals is incredible, absolutely incredible. When you take into account how big their size is, Isley (attempting) regenerating his arm at that speed was unbelievable. That doesn't make him defensive, and neither does it Priscilla.

I think priscilla can regenerate that fast even as an offensive type because of her large yoki pool.
From glycolysis of a long distance runner is said that she is fastest and most efficient if the carbohydrates storages are highly filled and that it gets slower the emptier those storages are. I think it is the same with yoki.
