I really enjoyed the first episode.

Everyone is as cute as ever.

Mio hates scary things =3

If you don't trust retailers, TBS also has the BDs/DVDs on their own online store, and the first volume confirms the 72-minute/3-episode count as well.
Wow, I guess that means K-On for the rest of the year. Thanks for the infos.

Went back to watch the OVA (episode 14) of the first season which I somehow missed after I saw episode 1 of the second.

I have to say the second season had a serious quality loss in animation. I've been noticing that Kyoto's paying a lot less attention to animation quality as of late. I looked at the seiyuu and Ritsu's one is the same for both the seasons, so why does she sound so different in the second season? The new OP is far too sporadic for me. The whole "high pitched moe moe kawaii desu desu" voice that Japanese women put on is unbelievably annoying. I'm happy with the new ED though, since Mio's voice is deeper and more developed from a musical standpoint.

I'm hoping the next episode will at least show a sign of improvement in animation quality.

Then you're probably just doomed in regard to Japan, japanese culture, what they consider sexy, anime, manga, pop culture, et al.

But yeah, I do find Mio's voice (spoken and singing) a bit more attractive. Yui's voice is high even for the average Japanese affected voice. Even the feared Kugimiya voice (Taiga, etc) or Chiwa Saito's "Becky" (PPD) voice is lower and more growly in comparision.

It's mostly the one used in the OP. The mix of "high pitched" and "fast" doesn't work all too well without me thinking about chipmunks...

I'm half convinced the OP was compressed for time budget reasons... that sounds like the 'chipmunk' knob was set to 11. Waiting to see if it is set that tempo in the CDs.

Waht I find odd, is that aside from sped up Yui, the music is pretty good. I've managed to block or ignore her singing and it listens just fine.

It's funny to listen to the Chu-Bra singles; On one hand there's Mio's and Mugi's actresses with relatively average female singing voices. On the other, Minori Chihara who's on, well, a slightly higher level

If you are taking any important papers like graduation exams, please postpone it.
