Aye, the musical fun and daily grind of practicing and balancing it with life -- that's appealing. I'd prefer less of "teacher plays dolls with the kids making Mio cry" to be honest. The last episode of season one was actually quite charming -- in the end though, I'd like to see more music-focused sequences using jump points from the manga.

As I noted from your artcatch in the image thread... there's some meat to the idea that K-On could be described as "Lucky Star 2.0, Now With Music!!!" No, they're not actually the same flavor nor are the characters identical, but there's significant commonality. I'm absolutely fine with that as long as it doesn't swamp everything else --- because then we'd never get gems like Spice&Wolf or Bakemonogatari.
